Oh my god it's a Euro comic EXPLOSION!!

I bought L'Incal 1-6. These are available in two new softcover trades (which is really uncommon for French comics), so they only set me back 9.90E each. Jodorowsky x Moebius = LES BONEURS TOTALES

I bought
Enki Bilal's
Nikopol trilogy:
La Foire aux Immortels, La Femme Piège, Froid-Équateur. I have no idea how I never heard of this guy before, as his work is CRAZY awesome. Fantasic art and weirdly spiritual narratives about immortals and men and crazy, crazy futures. The Integrale edition of Monstre (his most recent work, 10 years in the making) is out, but I decided to stick to his best-known "classic." 40E for the lot. It turns out there was a short-lived English version published in 2001 that I may try to track down.

I got Xoco 1--the first part of a two-part story, so sadly incomplete, but it's out-of-print now and that was all I could find. The lurking horror set in America, with really weirdly realistic art. 12E.

Code McCallum, because it has awesome art and who
doesn't want to read a self-contained near-future female spy story? Only
gaybos, that's who. 12E.
Speaking of, it bears noting that the French women of
bandes dessinées are
way hotter than either manga moe crybabies or comic pornstar superheroes. Exhibit A is Tinkerbell (Clochette) from Loisel's
Peter Pan:

Also, Blacksad is SUPER FURRY PORN and I'm sorry I ever touched it in the store. :'(
Also also, it was superdepressing to see the English section of the comic shop and up front was...

America.
