I have no idea what Willco is talking about, really. What's the baggage? WoW is an MMO without the baggage. Compared to previous MMOs, the grinding is minimal.

do you mean an mmo that is an actual game? maybe really have people be required to interact with the other players and game world instead of just buy/sell/team up for raids? that might actually be fun. bad idea to compare it WoW.

LotR is pretty good but apparently it's fairly a ghostland nowadays. of the released MMOs, it's the most comparable. however, it has exactly the same "baggage" as WoW so Willco will be disappointed.

I dunno what Willco wants, maybe a game that's free and sucks and he only plays 2 hours a month so it doesn't interfere with the rest of his gaming schedule!
