I liked him better when he was a human.
Overall the movie was rather uneven; if I had gone to see the movie in the theater as a fan of the original, I would have been disappointed. After about 30 minutes it was clear the movie wasn't a "horror" movie like the first one, but that doesn't justify it being a rather average fantasy movie, if that. Like many fantasy movies it seemed to be held down by some cliches in the dialogue.
"You believe in fairytales? You should, because they come true. Even the bad ones..."
Whoa, thank you for that information!
As I said earlier, Hell should be quite an interesting area to tackle in a movie. Yet in Hellbound, Hell is rather...mellow. A labrynth that looks like it was borrowed from...The Labrynth, and some of the character designs/environments looked similar to 70's era fantasy romps.
To make matters worse, the movie offers some rather tasty peaks at Pinhead's past life, but then fails to expand the issue. It would have been extremely interesting to learn more about him and the other demons. Instead they all get "killed" like pussies, as if the writers ran out of ideas.
