It's gonna be shitty Gundam game weekend at Ichi's house! I picked up a Super Famicom and a bunch of old Gundam games: G Gundam, Gundam F91: Formula Wars 0122, Gundam Wing: Endless Duel, Gundam: Cross Dimension 0079, Zeta Gundam: Away to the Newtype, and V Gundam. I also picked up the NiGHTS Nightopia Dream Pack for PS2 and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney for my DS Lite.

Too busy playing shitty Gundam games this weekend. NiGHTs will have to wait, I think it's just a remake of the original Saturn one, though, so probably not much new! It includes Christmas NiGHTs, according to the manual.

It looks like I splurged but each Gundam game was an average of 500 yen and the Super Famicom was only 3192 yen so it was actually really cheap. The most expensive things were the import Apollo Justice and NiGHTs.

The Sony rep (who is good friends with the Microsoft rep, even!) seemed pretty confident that all 40GB and future PS3 models are going to be software backwards compatible at some point. That's why I jumped the gun on the 40GB model. He's been accurate with all information he's fed me thus far.

Blu-ray looks great on EVERYTHING. Planet Earth is a PS3 killer app. You will believe a giant great white shark can jump out of the water and eat a seal in one gulp!

smaller monitors dont do 1080p anyway so theres very little chance of seeing what happens with 1080p on a small display. 720p looks fantastic on any display that supports it. The jump to HD was well worth it, especially for planet earth and omg unforgiven and replacement killers and ommgg

Basically anything WB looks OMG. But yeah, its pretty stunning imo. Replacement Killers blew me away too cause thats never been a big name release, and that looks fukin good too, as do the underworld movies

Which is one of the best damn documentaries ever. CrystalGemini and I watched the first episode, Pole to Pole, last night and there were a couple of times where we were blown away - especially when that great white shark jumped out of the water and ate a seal in one gulp!

I'd like to thank Uncle Sam for allowing me to go Blu. There are a few more BDs I want, like The Shining, Unforgiven, Hellboy, The Getaway, 3:10 to Yuma and maybe one or two more. But that's it for now. I am buying Unbreakable and Predator as soon as they hit BD. I think they both are due for release pretty soon.

Prole's buying BDs too? Blu-ray's victory is complete.

I just watched Shoot'em up a few days ago in True HD and the video transfer is pristine. The film itself is just so-so though.
