I like how they didn't further develop the little argument that SAS guy (leader of the mercenaries) had with Rambo. In other movies, you could count on a showdown between the two later on in the movie. Rambo didn't bite when the guy 'challenged' him with words, and the beef between them stopped right there. Just one example on how this movie tries not to be cliche at all.
Well, he did point that arrow at the guy's head later on, but that was to convince him to keep going.
