But, seriously folks, APF's post reveals two aspects of the problem.

One is that I don't go to parties. Well, I do, but 95% of them are parties that I host with my roommates. So I already know pretty much everyone who attends. They're all my friends. And hence not interested in me. I never get invited to any outside parties.

The other part is that this: "a chick who's interested comes up" is a fictional character. To the best of my knowledge, she has never existed.

Does the thought of intimate contact make you vomit? I had that problem when I was 16. I was a virgin and put so much pressure on myself in being "good" and it being "perfect" that my nervous system was on overload.

I wonder what my girlfriends thought when I would leave for 3 minutes and come back with a mouth that smelled like a vomit/toothpase cocktail.

edit: actually, I would take some issue with your statement anyway. Because it seems that many guys I know, if not most, have at some point or another attracted women without putting any effort into it. So if other guys have had girls develop crushes on them without intending for it to happen, I can still wonder why that has never occured for me.

(Hell, one of my friends had a girl drag him into her room when he was lying in the dorm hallway exhausted and half-unconscious from a workout)

Well, you know, usually people date in high school, have friends of different genders, and I missed out on all that. After I graduated and before I met my fiance, it seemed hopeless that I'd ever meet anyone -- most of my friends were older and had moved to college. I was planning to live at home and save up money so I could travel, since I was done with HS at age 16 (which I did). I guess I just kind of expected to be single for a long time since I wasn't planning on going to college for like 2 years. It's hard to meet a man when you're at work

I don't think it's a matter of girls "avoiding" him. He probably just isn't proactive enough, and as Boogie said already, he hangs out with mostly the same people all the time. I think it'll happen eventually for Boogie. He's a normal, cool guy it seems. He's not like demon over at GAF.
