Sounds like Sony just announced that MGS4 will be coming out on June 12th. It will also be available in a bundle with an 80GB (I thought this was discontinued?) PS3.

Also, the Dual Shock 3 is coming out on April 15th for $54.99.

This is why they announced it:

-the media hype surrounding the PS3 right now (EGM)
-Sony winning the HD format wars with their Blu-ray technology will spur interest and sales in the PS3 as a Blu-ray player (those that have waited for one format will be looking to buy a Blu-ray player and the PS3 is still an affordable and updated model)
-the MGO beta will spur interest in the Playstation Network, along with the upcoming Home open beta.

their next step is to actually get some decent exclusives other than MGS4, I honestly dont understand how anybody could be hyped for FF13.

Although I do admit, when I see Uncharted being played, I think to myself: 'I wish my 360 could do that

Smart move. Looks like Sony is finally doing something right. I've always thought it was a mistake for Sony to keep hyping up their own new IPs over franchises that the majority of Sony fans really cared about. 3rd party exclusives have always been the main reason why Sony was number 1.

Maybe Harrison was reading too much GAF? Otherwise, I can't fathom how they ever thought that stuff like Uncharted & Resistance were more important than GTA or MGS. I've been telling friends & family that have recently bought PS3s to try out those games but no one was willing to try them over a more famous franchise like Call of Duty.
