October/Halloween is over, and I'm depressed.
« on: November 01, 2006, 10:33:22 AM »
Seriously.  I get blue (like the board's theme!) when November 1st rolls around.  No more horror movie marathons, no more excuses for eating shitloads of candy, no more awesome Halloween atmosphere.  All gone.  It's terrible.  Oh well, just eleven more months  :'(

well there's still thanksgiving and christmas, both of which I like.

really there's just nothing like kicking back in a warm apartment on a chilly sunday afternoon with a cup of coffee and a good book. That's 'the good life'

Error Macro, you know my pain.  I don't think you knew how much it sucked me to roll over the board theme back to default.  Hell, I left on my Halloween lights trought the night, because I don't want to turn them off.  I put my TV on 60 min sleep so I could fall asleep to Carpenter's Halloween.

I miss you Halloween  :'(

To me, it's more than just a commercial holiday - it's tradition.  It starts really, with my family making trips to the pumpkin patch ('ole Butler's Orchard for my weekly local reference that only Mandark get), going on hay rides, drinking hot apple cider to keep warm and all that fun season stuff.

But then you've got the horror films on TV.  The daylight sets differently.  Even the air feels different.

Nothing beats the warm glow of my orange lights, the cold October air, that familiar Halloween theme and movie on the tube, the sound of kids and troublemakers in the background and the smell of pumpkins burning out.

That hour between 9 PM and 11 PM, where everything begins to die out, but Halloween is still in full force - that's my favorite.

It's a great holiday.

Also, if someone can be diagnosed with post-Christmas depression, which is apparently a serious disorder nowadays, then we should totally get post-Halloween depression.

So this is what it's like ... when doves cry  :'( :'( :'(

With all the disorders that get classified these days, post-Halloween depression really should be one of them.

And Christmas, though it used to be my favorite as a kid, evolved over the years into something kind of lame and depressing, so I just barely celebrate it anymore.  The only thing the rest of the year has going for it is the weather.

Also, Will, I definitely know what you mean about that last little part of Halloween... I watched Halloween ('99 DVD - Cundey's correct colors ftw) starting right about 9:00.

My mom e-mailed me at work asking about how my Halloween went, I sent her this response...

It was fun - I just miss it.  I kept my lights on all night and put my TV on sleep mode, so I could fall asleep to AMC's last airing the '78 classic, Halloween.  I miss it already :(

So she sends me this response...

You are always like this on Nov 1.  You used to get so sad the next day when your friends would go home.

:lol

I've got a history of post-Halloween depression.

Holy shit Ermac, you're depressed since Halloween is over, and since of the harsher autumnal climate I suppose? Not cool. I really feel for you, it's as if part of your pain was shared by me as well. :(

Even if I decided to spend time playing multiple games in the place of playing multiple forum softwares like too many people do, this is too uncool for me not to post. Cheer up dude. Why not listen to some Reel Big Fish?

Good luck pal, I'm sure you'll find a way to alleviate all these blues soon. :)

Thanks dude.  Yes, I'm depressed because October/Halloween is over, but I actually love the weather!  It's not very harsh where I live, but provides a much needed break from the extreme heat in the summer.  I love cold, rain, etc.  But there may still be some underlying psychological effect, even though on the surface the cooler weather makes me feel happier and more alive.  I find the sweltering heat of summer very depressing.

But I'll listen to some Reel Big Fish  :heart
