Senior english paper=awesome and easy
« on: February 27, 2008, 10:11:28 PM »
Man, this is actually the first time I've been enjoying my time doing crappy research papers on stuff.  I'm writing an (admitedly overdone) character analysis on Holden Caulfield and how he has become *ahem* "One of the leading touchstone characters of American literature, similar to Twain's Huck Finn."

Only thing I'm a bit concerned about is doing these fucking outliens that English teachers think are so vital.  I'm sorry, I jsut do better if I sit down and just type.  Making me try to organzie my ideas and fucking stupid notecards is such a horribly implemented "plan."

I'd imagine an outline is due before the actual paper.

What Cajole said.

I'd rather not do one at all.  Its pointless and only "helpful" to students who think their reliance on school policies and already-inacted structures makes them a better student and ultimately ready for college.  Yeah right

Whatever.  As far as I'm concerned, if I can find more than enough reserach, pitch the shitty and irrelevant information, and just jangle all that shit together in a paper in a couple days, I'm just as qualified to write a decent paper.

High school papers are always easy.  turning them in is basically an automatic B...they're always boring as hell though.  I prefer papers where we actually have to argue something rather than the more straightforward high school papers.

I mean..look at your topic.  There's probably another senior in your school with the same topic.

Well, this is sort of like that.  I mean, probably not to the degree college papers are, but we're supposed to take a certain stance and try and argue our point.  But I see what you're saying.

edit: go read your don quixote  :'(

I will in a couple weeks, Ichi.  Once I finish this paper, I have some hardcore stupid trig project in my Math class and than I need to finish Dylan's autobiography and then On the Road.  But then its all Don Quixote for you, fagmaster :bow

Slaughterhouse-Five is sitting two feet away from me on my shelf.  It looks awfully appealing right now.

Fuck there's a lot I want to read again.

They make high schoolers write outlines because, let's face it, most high schoolers are distinguished mentally-challenged.
