Just consider it slang. Just like when someone says "You're cool" it doesn't mean you're physically cold. From now on, if someone says "I'm going to bed" consider them saying "ok, I should go to bed now so I'll browse EB first so I get sleepy".

what cg said. when i say "i'm going to bed" it does not mean i am going to bed; it means that i don't want to converse any more because i am tired and will be going to bed in the coming hours. this does not preclude further internet and/or wow and/or xbl activity. it DOES mean that i will not be engaging in activities where i do not completely control the length of time i participate, i.e. conversations, pugs, and hot hot hot gay black sex chat.
