She probably didn't want to be associated with a worn out has been. Plus look what happened to Dunst- her career is in the toilet and she's in rehab after three Raimi projects. Bruce Campbell is obviously the only person who can withstand the nefarious evil of Sam Raimi's talent draining touch.

Hmmm? You must be joking. Raimi is one of the most refreshing and original directors to come around in the past 30 years. Darkman alone is proof of this. I'm not a huge fan of the spidermans but any director with the guts, talent and originality of a Raimi is worthy of true worship.

To me, it sounds like the small success she had has went to her head. Juno was not that good, it is just that 2007 was just a bad year for movies. Even then, Juno got far more recognition than it actually deserved. She should just milk her 15 minutes for all it is worth because nobody will know or care who Ellen Page is 5-10 years from now.

Come on guys, NO legitimate actor would follow an OSCAR-NOMINATED PERFORMANCE with a fucking HORROR MOVIE. Horror movies are for B-list and C-list actors like Neve Campbell and Jennifer Love Hugetits. Once you reach a certain level of fame, you want to choose projects that'll make you look sophisticated and shit so the Academy will nominate you again. I'm sure this is what spurred her decision.

Uh... I happen to be 30 and have seen all of Raimi's flicks. He's an above average director when he puts his energy into it but he's nothing to write home about and as has been said hasn't done anything really good or noteworthy in a decade or so. Hell, I think it's fair to say that he's never done a good studio movie.

And I agree with what you're saying. Even though I liked Spiderman, I feel like any competent director could have done as well. The Quick and the Dead was the last movie he did that I felt like had any kind of unique flair.
