Well, Evilbore is notorious for saying that the 360 version is all but confirmed for MGS4.

Seriously, if the game's going to be more than four discs, and judging the usual length of an MGS game, the PS3 version will be superior (if the 360 version is even made for christ sakes) just because you won't have to switch discs every hour or two of gameplay.

It won't.  I love MGS, but the games aren't all that game play wise.  I love the quirky story, though.

I haven't been OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG about an MGS since MGS2. I'm surprised I'm not jizzing through my nose about MGS4 because MGS3 was by far and wide the best MGS. I'm getting the bundle on day one but like, I'm doing it out of habit. I'm sure the game will be OMFG because I haven't been disappointed by an MGS yet (MGS2 was fucking fun as hell shut up)

Watch the pirate release of mgs4 being 15gb; just like resistance was suposed to be 30gb but turned to be 6gb. I own a ps3, I love it, but if MGS4 was to get a simultaneous release; I'd buy the 360 port simply because I would be able to talk with friends and be on msn while playing. Also the controller is ages ahead of the ps3.

i can tell the difference between uncompressed/losslessly compressed audio and dd/dts on some blu rays. if i'm using headphones, anyway -- i haven't got the setup for uncompressed surround

but:

a. we don't know if mgs4 is using uncompressed audio
b. whether it's 7.1 is irrelevant -- consoles mix audio in real time, so more channels wouldn't use more space
