Why are gamestore employees so slow?
« on: November 01, 2006, 10:44:06 PM »
I mean how hard is it to get someone what they want and ring them up? Hell, even with offering all the crap they want it shouldnt take as long as it does.

In one night I was witness to a gamestore with 4 employees moving slow (1 working, 1 setting up a wii kiosk, and 2 DICKING THE FUCK AROUND) and then I was witness to 1 employee spending 15 minutes selling a used Xbox. Then when i get to the front of the line after waiting I found out they dont have the game that was released today and that my pre-order lets me get it when it does get in LOLZ. SO whatever, I wasn't going to wait in line that long and not get anything so I bought FFXII. God damnit.

The 'customer comes first' adage doesn't seem to be a part of gamestore management.

I dunno, I havent tried it yet, I was going to buy it when it was greatest hits.

I wasnt even planning on buying it today, granted I had toyed with the idea. However there was no way in fucking hell I was going to buy ANOTHER GTA game, even IF its on the PSP.

The person at our Gamestop is like this 40 year old woman. Seemed kinda odd, she didnt look like a gamer really. Nice lady though. The other employees are jackasses.

Gamestore employees carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Also, they deal with fanboys and small children most of them time.  I'd be pretty crazy under those circumstances too.

The ones where I go move fast.  Really get pissed off when you don't know what you want (I was always prepared).

MAF you should just ask them "...do you know who I am?"

Apparently, I am really lucky with the Gamestop/EBs near me. Most of the guys are pretty knowledgeable and I've had interesting conversations with a few. And they don't try to pawn off some magazines or pre-order shit on me most of the time. They've even recommended getting stuff at other stores before.

Gamecrazy isnt too bad but lately as a company theyve adopted this really weird policy where on release day I may or may not see my games until Friday, and at this point im questioning why I pre-order. Its not so I can get a copy period, its so I can get a copy on release day :(

AM I NOT APPROACHABLE LOOKING CAJOLE?

Nah to be honest last time he tried to go on a rant about a gaming magazine and I just stared at him.

Maybe it's just my Gamecrazy, but they are the worst at keeping up on their own prices. When I bought Fire Emblem they still had it marked at 49.99 (2 weeks after the price drop). I walk up there and the guy is shocked it's 15 dollars. So, I grab Battalion Wars too (also priced at 49.99) ... their computer shows two in stock ... but he couldn't find them.

Oh well.

So I come back three weeks later .. BOTH of the games are still priced at 49.99. This time I got the employee to find the copy of Battalion Wars.

So yea, I made out because they don't price correctly. But it sucks to go browsing through there and not know if it's the REAL price of the game.

Look at what EB/GS pays, you are lucky they don't try to hold you up.

Actually im a really nice guy to most gamestore employees. I just dont have time for slackers after 1-2 hours of commute and a full workday. Every minute they waste is like a minute stolen from my goddamned evening.
