Personally I'm real oldschool. If I went on a date (and it looks like I might be next week... ), I would keep it simple, but elegant.

Maybe go see a movie? Let the chick choose. After that, a nice quiet dinner. I really like the Olive Garden, and it's a pretty romantic place. But, is it best to go to a movie and then go eat dinner...or eat dinner and then go to a movie?

The movie can be scrapped for something else obviously, but I think dinner would be important. It would allow me show off that I'm a gentlemen - holding doors open for the lady and stuff like that.

Just a nice resturant I still remember she got chicken parm her fav, and I got Penne Vodka w/Chicken and we shared a piece of cake.  It was October so it was chilly, but not cold.  I gave her my jacket, and we walked back to our dorm holding hands.  After we came back I gave her a kiss...still one of the best times I remember.

I've always liked to find women with similar music tastes, so concerts or clubs are good for me.  Then usually dinner.  Dinner can come first if they want.  And then the real kicker is getting them back to your apartment, not to fuck, but to see if you actually have anything in common.  

Part of the problem with our idea of modern dating is that we do activities that don't make us communicate at all.  So when the time comes to actually talk to your partner about something, you realize you have nothing to say.  But you stay because the sex is good.

I think one of my better dates ever was for CrystalGemini's birthday.  I walked off the plane with roses in hand - and then I took CrystalGemini out to a sushi restaurant for her birthday, where I indulged in various forms of sushi for the first time (she got a kick out of my culture shock).  We got to talk and eat and laugh (mostly at my expense) and enjoy the night afterwards in the beautiful Bay area.  Even waiting for a table, and walking around Berkeley was fun in the meanwhile.

Ahhh, I see.  I tend to ask out any girl that gives me an erection and some who do not.  I've been on plenty of bad dates.  I've only ever bailed on one though.  We went to a movie and before it even started I couldn't stand her and knew I was going to hate her.  So I just got up and left while the previews were still going.
