I have never seen or heard of this before. I press the power button and the ring lights green for a moment, and then it turns off. No red ring or anything. I have checked the cables several times, and no response. The system is hosed and it's not even telling me so. What a piece of garbage. I haven't even turned it on in like a week. The DVD drive won't even open. . .I'm going to have to fucking PLY it open to get the disc out.

Nope, I have checked. The system is D-E-A-D dead. I have not touched it in roughly a week. Right now, I have jiggered everything jiggerable. The light on my power brick is orange, when I power on, it turns green for a moment, and then flicks back to orange.

Everything is plugged in securely.

They didn't work, apparently. Scenester bought a system last year and it was broken OUT OF THE BOX. Overheating is still a huge problem. It's just a badly designed system.

My 360 hasn't given me any problems yet (those freeze-ups a while back were due to XBL), and I leave it on an average of 4-5 hours a day. It's on right now. I just let it idle.

I don't have a falcon unit, so I've been weary of stressing my unit. If it weren't for the hardware issues I would buy all multi-platform games for the 360. But since the systems have been so unreliable, I've been picking up PS3 versions of multi-platform games, which irks me due to the lack of achievements, friends list, yada yada yada.

Uh, PS2 was the biggest piece of shit in history before 360 came and took the crown. I've had one 360 with a bad DVD drive in a year and a half of ownership, but I had to replace my PS2, and my dad's PS2, and like 4 of my friends had to replace theirs. And my second PS2 got shitty too so I had to buy a PS3. At least it's free to replace a 360 and they're actually fixing the problem instead of waiting 4 years and then making you buy a revision.

And unless you want to play 5 year old games in 5 years, no PS2 will not have the best library.

my ps2's laser got fucked like a year after I got it. People give 360 all this shit when they forget like everyone ever had issues with DRE with ps2, and that didn't stop them from getting more ps2's. I'm on my third fucking ps2.

There are people who haven't replaced their 360s you know. I've never had RROD and I have mine on a lot.

You won't be playing PS2 games you haven't played before 5 years from now, unless you're dipping in to Ford Racing Challenge and MudButt 3.

the gpu is 80nm now
the two "X" under the cpu/gpu are a little different
some component are different
and there are 3 heatsinks now with a heatpipe.

5 years of no games is 5 years of no games. Costco warranties are free. MS replacement is free for 1 or 3 years. All in all, better than PS2's situation.

Disc issues are not as common, I had mine in 2006. I didn't even need to repurchase my BB warranty because the unit was still within my MS warranty.
