Who is psyched for Portrait of Ruin?  I know I am.  And if you pre-ordered it, you're going to get this:

Badass.

I think there is potential here to finally top Symphony of the Night.

Seriously, that is the best pre-order gift I've ever seen for a portable game.

DS LITE is probably the best system to own this holiday season, the number of high quality releases is dominating the release lists

Seriously, it's for the DS??? What's that disc for?

Damn, that first DS Castlevania was one of the best sidescrollers I've played in a while.

Eh. I thought the DoS was okay. It was like Aria of Sorrow, but like...not evolved enough. It was Aria of Sorrow 1.5. Still though, it was yummy. I love me some CV!

The formula is getting old, and I'm hoping this new CV fits the bill nicely. I've been on media black out!

That's just the pre-order gift for the game, it's a CD full of music from over 20 years worth of Castlevania games.

The pre-order set includes a soundtrack CD, a 48-page art book with slipcover, plus a Castlevania branded stylus and DS game card case.  And it's all in that sweet, sweet box.

Himuro: Well the same could be said for GTA, the difference being that while I get tired of killing mob bosses, I dont get tired of fighting the forces of evil :)

That is true about the formula for GTA, even I will admit that. However, I never get tired of kicking gangster ass...just like I never get tired of KICKING DRACULA'S ass, and in AoS/DoS's case...kicking ass as Dracula! omg!

Dawn of Sorrow was much bigger than Aria of Sorrow, but quite frankly, I felt the level design was a lot better in Aria of Sorrow.  Still quite fun, but not up to the lofty heights of all the Symphony of the Night-killer talk that was going around.

Portrait of Ruin has a legitimate shot, in my opinion, of finally taking the throne.

Himuro: well on that point its a matter of taste so ill leave that alone. Its just I dunno how well GTA is going to sell anymore, the PSP one that just came out didnt get much fanfare but got the usual review scores.

In DoS, the game WAS bigger but the level design wasn't that interesting to me. I mean..I don't got anything against cars and shit in CV, but like you'd have a car, and then you'd walk into a fucking castle, and it didn't feel right.

Also the platforming itself was rather lacking. I love me some AoS! Second best Metroidvania!

I agree. I'm not so sure how much it'll sell after all of thiis milking. Still though, it's for psp. Who's to say GTAIV for Ps3/360 will be completely different in terms of hype?
