I think a good compromise is that a person is free to believe in Creationism, if they like, and in exchange they just have to give up any scientific or technical advances discovered after 1859 (the year Origin of Species was published).

God gets put back in the schools, and electricity and pencillin get taken out. No television or computers means more time for reading the Bible, and since you'll die at 45 of malnutrition and insufficient health care, you get to go live with God up in His big golden house sooner than the evil-lie-tionists. Cause the Constitution represents the Founding Fathers' ability to pluck timeless, universal truths from the ether and render them onto parchment.  Every word of the document comes from their revelations, so rejecting one part would break the hermeneutic circle, or something.

The practical result is that things like a bicameral legislature and the non-representation of Washington, DC are just as unassailable as freedom of speech and religion.
