It would definitely not be another war movie. I can't go any further with that than what I've already done. What it's going to be like, I'm not going to reveal at this point. If Rambo MUST be taken into another genre why not sci fi? Like say, a bunch of criminals and Vietnam vets are sent into space to respond to a distress signal on one of the United Earth Federation's Saturn colonies. But little do they know that the UEF just wants to rid earth of all current and former military/weapons trained citizens who support the candidacy of Grand Septon Dillon Marshall, who supports a new, rebellious religion that works for the people instead of the wealthy. Upon reaching the colony Rambo and his men face off against a group of shape shifting aliens who look just like the VC

Oh man, it could be a direct sequel.  Have them move to England instead, to Dustin Hoffman's old house.  The English people resent Rambo because they remember what happened the last time an American lived in that house.  Eventually Rambo meets Hoffman's wife from the first movie and she tells him what happened and then tries to kill him.  His 'Nam self-defense skills kick in and he accidentally kills her, which makes the townspeople go nuts and all of them lay a siege on the house.  Now Rambo must defend himself, his new wife, and their newborn baby.
