Hey, my original complaint was that it looked the same as Melee. And it does. I rest my case. And I NEVER COMPLAINED about faked lighting in Uncharted or anything. Stop attributing things other people do to me.

I'm not even one of the graphic nitpickers (except when it comes to PC games), so get who makes what complaints straight.

what's the point of these "better" (read: recycled from twilight princess) textures if they're reduced to blobs of shimmering crap? given the camera distance and the roughly identical models, there's no practical difference between brawl's and melee's visuals. fuck, tekken tag tournament looks better than EITHER of them.

Why don't we talk about Himu's MAGIC EYES that see VF4 and VF5 looking close, but Brawl looks MUCH BETTER than Melee.

I was pretty careful in not attributing that to anyone specifically.

Professor: Look, you're not going to get me to say they make a huge difference. Even if they were 100% clear with 32x AA, the game is played in a manor that it wouldn't really contribute much overall. But the textures are better.

And i don't know if they were all recycled directly from TP...I think Game Arts was recoloring a denim texture for a few characters though. Mario was retextured (and it looks kind of weird). Same with Wario.

I was joking with the VF line, guys. I mean come on. Nothing in VF4 compares to the fucking GUILIN stage in VF5, and the models have much better EVERYHING in VF5.

I just took it that TVC thought that somehow Brawl doesn't look better than Melee, which is what I got from his posts, so I wanted to make an extreme statement.

I think it looks better. They look similar, yes, but the graphics quality difference is definitely up there. Maybe this is because we were playing on an sdtv or something, I don't know.

I had tekken 1 with my psx, and it was balls. I just went to my friends house and played Virtua Fighter 2 on the Saturn instead.

Himuro does have good taste in fighting games, though. Smash can be fun with a lot of people, but then again, everything is fun in coop/multiplayer.

I never got into TTT. I played the death out of T3. I didn't have a PS2 until about a year after launch, so I kinda missed out on TTT's time. I have played it a bit and I will concede that it is probably the best since it is just T3 on steroids.

i heard that when playing online multiplayer you can't see what the other guys choose at their team, so that coupled with the lack of communication means there's no way of knowing what teams there will be so it'll just be completely random and nonsensical. i mean wtf is up with that

The graphics are definitely a major improvement, you can tell when you play a carryover Melee stage.

One odd thing: All the characters are waaay bigger relative to the Melee stages. Kind of weird at first.

For the record, I myself never played Melee enough to be able to wavedash even 50% of the time. I still find it ridiculous that it's removed from the game simply for all the people who bitch and moan about losing because of it in tourneys. Well, what do you expect? Surprise, some things take practice. It's not as if it was a gamebreaking exploit that was only available to a select group of people.
