Why does this have to be remade ? 
Doesn't the popularity of Shawn and Hot Fuzz mean there'd probably be more interest in seeing it with the original cast?

Basically, when they signed to make Spaced originally, they gave over the rights. So the bigwigs can do whatever they want, and the OG crew can't do anything about it. It was a huge stink, because when they originally announced it, they completely left out Jessica Stevenson (now Hynes), who was one of the original writers. The OG crew wants nothing to do with this entire show, and is basically telling everyone to not watch it.
Also, they revealed that the Region 1 DVD of Spaced will FINALLY be available around July.
