PES 2008
« on: March 15, 2008, 06:40:20 AM »
Anyone else playing this?

It really feels the same to me as old WEX titles.

WTF is up with the close up replays and action scenes - sometimes they are as smooth as silk and sometime the frame-rate is annoying. I am playing the PS3 edition.

I havent tried online yet - I notice that it requires a software key tied to your copy.

So what is supposed to be new in this game?

Other than having classic WEX in hi rez/widescreen, im not seeing the new features.

The game is amazing fun.

FIFA being better this year seems to be the general consensus, the only ones not agreeing are the staunch anti-EA fanboys. Although I wonder how much of FIFA being better this year is due to it improving or PES declining dramatically.

aaaand adding one thing though :

if you aren't into real football too much, and by that i mean on a fairly involved level, where you will be living with the pressure of having to convert the one or two clear cut well worked chances you carve out , then FIFA 08 isn't for you.

Is this a roundabout way of saying there are no volcanoes in this game?

Fifa 08 is fucking awesome.

Fifa 08 actually feels more of a simulation and it's a lot slower and tougher than the new PES.

if anybody wants to play Fifa on XBL: Dr Tim Whatley

but i still hate that companies continue to gimp the 360/PS3 versions. PS2 has 2v2 online and also a full "Be a Pro" career mode. I think it has more stadiums too.

hopefully, next year we get a Be a Pro career mode on 360 because it's so much fun. and maybe 10v10 online

Did you update the game?  I read somewhere that there's a patch that increases PES' performance on the PS3 by removing anti-aliasing.
