Is it supposed to be that bright? His original photos imply he was out during evening, when the final product is daytime. That Slovakian photo still shows it's dark out, and I'd imagine the other pre-combined photos are dark as well.

Those were taken at like 3PM demi. To do an HDR photo you take one photo properly metered, and a few underexposed and overexposed pictures.

The over/underexposed photos were done at +/-2, so they are pretty over and under exposed.

Yeah, I found a way to fix that, but then I totally fucked up the picture and I got bored and started watching X-Files.

I was just fucking around again. It's pretty amazing. You basically have full control over the intensity of light and shadow in the scene.

The yellowing in the clouds is jpeg artifacing which there is apparently a way to prevent, but lol 1am.

Clouds are perfect to photograph when their just right. When their puffy, you get the full gamut of light to shadow and the texture is always beautiful.

I think the higher end cameras are supposed to be able to bracket even more incrimental exposures. Those shots are really awesome.

I think I used 8-10 exposures. Keep the lens open super long to get whatever's hiding in the shadows, 30 seconds is long enough. Camera is a Canon 20D + Sigma 30mm 1.4 EX lens.

I use Photomatix for my HDR conversion, great but VERY BUGGY/crashy.

I think I finally need to buckle down and get a decent tripod and a remote shutter release. If I want to do things that require a bunch of exposures, the three shot bracket just isn't going to do it.

Why is it only a three shot bracket? Why can't they let the user pick how many shots they want, and at what intervals?

It's weird, my A710 IS point and shoot with its hacked firmware will let me bracket however the fuck I want. My like 300 dollar point and shoot has more bracketing options than my 1200 dollar DSLR. Maybe someone will hack its firmware.

Ah 1.4, hehe, was going to ask you if you denoise the longer exposures before the compositing, but I guess you can do these in low enough ISO with that. Also 20D is pretty low on noise to begin with IIRC. Cool. My GF has a K-M Dynax 7D, was thinking about buying the 50mm 1.8 for that when I go to Japan and try some HDR.

TVC, the Dynax 7D does 3 or 5 exposure bracketing, and you can also set how big the EV steps are gonna be between them. But I guess going manual is better anyway.
