I'm picking up Sengoku Musou 2 with Moushouden (AKA Samurai Warriors 2 with SW2 XL) today.  This is a Japan-only release.  The U.S. (And I assume Europe/Australia later) is getting the 360 SW2 XL in the form of downloadable content, for 2400 points IIRC.  I prefer having the disc personally, but this is a cool way to release the game for a good price.  The double pack-only Japanese release also sucks for anyone who has the original 360 game.

Might get Bangai-O and/or Dodgeball too.  Even that Sakura Taisen game looks kinda fun.

Didn't care for the original Vegas 360 demo, but if they release another demo for Vegas 2 and it seems fun, maybe I'll give it a try.  COD4 really does nothing for me and I mainly just stick with Halo 3 for my online FPS fix.

Just this for me this week.

I was planning on just getting Sengoku 2/XL, BUT I got 6500 yen cash back from school for the leftover school lunch fees, so that's like two DS games right there!

It's a dungeon crawler, it'll probably be fun.  It got a decent Famitsu rating, too.  It's kinda exciting that this'll be the first game where you battle without mecha.

I'm really interested in the Sakura Taisen dungeon crawler and Armored Core For Answer.

Next week is going to rock with Crisis Core on the PSP and Gundam 00 on the DS, though.

edit: Wait a second, the Karaoke Revolution American Idol game came out on the PS3 this week? After looking at the song list, my wife REALLY wants that game, looks like I'll be picking it up for her birthday tomorrow.

Probably just get Bangai-O, but also interested in Sega Superstars Tennis. Has it been reviewed anywhere yet?

I'm wondering this myself.  I'd like to get the 360 version if it's region-free and got good scores.  Sumo Digital handled some Virtua Tennis ports, so they should be able to do a good tennis game!

Next week is going to rock with Crisis Core on the PSP and Gundam 00 on the DS, though.

Next week is also Warriors Orochi for PSP.  It's an awesome conversion....buy it!   8)

Speaking of which, I'm probably going to sell off Gundam Musou Special PS2 and Musou Orochi 360 today.  Got Musou Orochi on PSP, new Sengoku Musou today, plus it's just a few weeks until the ultimate- MUSOU OROCHI 2- is released.

I'm tempted to get Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes now 'cuz I saw it used going for 3000 yen which seems pretty cheap...not a new game but not worth making a new thread over. :ninja

Well Basara 2 Heroes NEW is only like 4000 yen, so that's not a big deal.  And absolutely make a new thread for the AWESOMENESS known as Basara 2.  AND FUCK YOU DISTANT MANTRA FOR NOT BUYING THE GAME YET.

Just remember to get the original Basara 2 first before Heroes.

Also, and I almost can't believe I'm saying this...Basara 2/Heroes on Wii is a little better than the PS2 version.  The game's image quality is YUCK YUCK YUCK at 480i only (and it doesn't look as good as the PS2 version), *BUT* it allows you to share data between both games, so you can go back and forth.  You cannot do this on the PS2 version; it's a one-time data change to Heroes from SB2 and that's it.

I ended up getting the Wii version back so I have Basara 2 and Heroes on two different platforms.  I can't fucking help it...love these games.

You can move all of your leveled-up characters and (I want to say but need to double check!) weapons and gold over to Heroes from SB2, but only once.  I *think* it then makes the original SB2 data useless even in the original game, but you can always back up the save on another memory card.  The Wii version doesn't do this.

If you haven't played SB2, play that first.  It's the main game...Heroes is the expansion.

I think I saw an IGN review or somewhere that gave it a 6 or a 7. Not sure why one mascot wankfest gets reviewed normally while another gets a pass.

Yeah, get SB2 on the cheap, so if you don't like it, it's not a big deal.  You should also branch out n' get Musou Orochi on PSP.

Sweet; got 7000+ yen for Musou Orochi and Gundam Musou; had a full stamp card too, so Sengoku Musou 2+Mushouden was only 5000 yen.  Picked up Bangai-O and skipped the other new stuff.  Sakura Taisen looks to have the same animu dating sim-wannabe stuff the other games did, and I never really took to the Dodgeball games, so I'll pass on it for now.  I did pick up Legend Of Kage 2 from last week.  Hope it's good.

The arcade had KOF '98 Ultimate Match though, and that is my pick for this week's GOTY.

I'd love to see what the purchase to pirate ratio will be for Crisis Core.

I'm interested in your impressions lyte, post them if you can.

even though i never played the original NG games, i really wanted TN to go back to platforming with this, would have been refreshing at least.

perhaps they will do that one day or at least release the original games on XBLA.

:o :o :o  It's VERY slick.  You start off playing as the female character instead of Ryu, but she seems to be the same as him anyway.  Right now I can do basic combo slashes, throw shuriken, and do some jump/downstrike attacks.  Looks and sounds really, really good for a DS game....it's Ninja Gaiden reimagined for PSOne!   :lol

I would stay far far away from Gundam 00 DS honestly. It's a BEC action game, and ever since Bandai fromed the BEC studio the only decent thing they've produced is the Gundam True Odyssey RPG for PS2. Their action games range from pretty crappy (Gundam PS3) to absolutely unplayable (Eureka Seven PS2 games). If you want to take one for the team, by all means, but yeah I really don't think it's going to be very fun at all.
