I'm getting this today

got the urge to play RE4 again. I think this is the ideal way to get back to the game and I got a 10 euro discount in some store so it's really a no-brainer.

Otherwise I'm probably going back to TMNT on xbla. If anyone wants to play co-op just send me a FR, I still haven't managed to beat the game online with the 20 live limit

i played some onslaught online last night and my skills are really, really rusty, but it's some of the most fun i've had online in a while.  def better than cod4's multiplayer.  still not as good as battlefield 2's mp, though.

WoW
I haven't played this all week.  now will i be playing hunter or will i be struggling along with priest?  decisions decisions

Really fun game, gets hated on way too much by DOW fans expecting SUPER BIG THINGS and not just what it promised-two more cool new races and a good reasons to going on a genocidal stomp across four planets.

Computer game adapataion of the Joan of Arc board game. Lightweight and fun way to play through the Hundred Years War, and since it is on the computer I will have somoene to play against and not my friends fleeing in terror as I threaten to play a board game even remotely resembling a wargame with them.

This is Armageddon Empires, an indie turn based strategy game that was all the rage last year in the PC gaming chattering class for very good reason. There is a new patch/expansion out and I am back to playing the crap out of it-such an awesome mix of wargame and card game.

But of course-always willing to evangelize a good game.

Armageddon Empires (AE) is, as you can see, a hex-based turn based strategy game. You start the game by creating and selecting a "deck" to play with-this deck is a set of cards chosen from a selection of four different sides-man, mutant, machine, and alien, each with their own themes. Decks are created with a system of point counts, so you can only have so many points per deck for a standard game (though you can also play nonstandard games too). You can choose from cards that will let you field infantry units, vehicles, buildings, heroes that can command armies or garrisons, and gear that you can add on to your units to make them more powerful.

Once you pick out a deck, the board is randomly created and you place your starting fortress, which always provides a base level of income at the start of the turn. In each turn, you take your units and armies and recon and uncover tiles to see if they have resources or buildings on them, enter into combat with other players or independent units, create technology or tactics (which results in new cards), draw more cards , field new units etc. Each of these actions consumes points from your global action point pool , which is replentished at the start of each turn.

Fielding new units or buildings/structures/upgrades/tactics requires resources, which are gathered by buiding collector buildings on tiles that have the resources. So you have to get out there and explore and claim the land or fight over it to get ahead. This also helps to expand your range of supply-if your armies get too far away from a resupply point, they will get large combat negative modifiers.

Speaking of combat, it works on an initative system based on the leader and the cards in your army. Each unit has defense/offense/life numbers associated with it along with varying abilities. During combat you roll dice per unit of offense/defense you have, and can choose which card of your opponents you want to attack on your turn. It's pretty straightforward but has a lot of depth and tactics.

More on the game here:

http://www.armageddonempires.com/games/AE/ae_Overview.html

It's not the prettiest game in the world, and the UI is pretty dismal at times, but man oh man I spent a good month straight playing it in December.

No tutorial in the game itself. The manual (link) is well written and after reading the first ten or so pages you'll have enough information to get started with the game.

So awesome. I can run it with 2xAA @ 1280x800 with everything on maximum. Terrific engine.

i got bored with the demo.  does the full game open up a bit or is it still pretty much a first person wizard game?

Forgot how much fun Bully was but some of the new classes kinda stink.  Music 5...how I hate thee.

Other than that, nothin'.  Just going to watch basketball and that Beatles Anthology.

Gonna try and finish off Professor Layton. Making good progress, but I can only go so far before I feel like I'm doing homework. The game is just so pretty, though. Gamefly sent out Culdcept Saga yesterday, so I guess I'll try that. I saw it was EB GoTM. Wish they'd sent Bully, instead, but.

Treasure Trove is get all the items in the game. The auction house only sells items from areas which are no longer accessible i.e have been destroyed. Ive gone through every fucking town and dungeon and I still cant find what Im missing. Ive read countless threads/posts on many forums looking for commonly missed items etc. still no luck. Im just gonna go through and beat the game I think

isn't there a list of all items on gamefaqs/boards?

with a complete list you might find what you are missing easier.

Went back to Mass Effect. The vehicle sections suck, but I love everything else for the most part.

I got my Elite License in Burnout two days ago, but I still need to finish the jumps, smashes, and billboards.

COD4 is always in the rotation, and I beat almost all of Forgotten Ancient's times in N+.

yeah Ive done every side quest, and got skill master Seth Achievement. All the other immortals just need one more skill for the achievemnt (its a 100 SP skill though so I will have to grind a little) Im going to have to live with 980/1000 on this one
