I'm still pretty goddamn excited, mainly because SPIELBERG directed it.

I like the prequels for storyline purposes, but I'm not going to pretend that there weren't all sorts of instances of atrocious acting.

George Lucas just doesn't care about filmmaking anymore.  He has all the money anyone could ever need and he was never a great director in the first place.  His contribution to sound design and visual effects are impressive, however.

Maybe he's trying to downplay it because he doesn't want Spielberg to make a really awesome Indy movie after he shat the bed with the Star Wars prequels.
