We will play each opponent only once. The sets will be best of three. The two players with the best win-loss record will then play in a best of five. Matches will be posted for each round of round robin in this thread.
Because Brawl is so new, none of the stages will be banned from competition. A stage will be picked at random for the first match in a set. The loser of the match will pick the next stage. Dave's Stupid Rule is not in effect.
The matches will be Stock, with three lives. Players will not have a stock time limit. All items including Final Smashes will be disabled. In order for this to work, both players will have to pick the correct stage and have the items and settings set correctly so that the game forces the correct settings.
Deadlines will be set for each set of matches. If one of the two players is not responding by the time the deadline rolls around in some way, the game is an automatic forfeit in favor of the active member in order to continue the flow of the tournament.
I will not object to anyone playing a game after the designated deadline for the round. I just need to be informed in some way about the plans. If I approve a delay, however, you must play the game before the deadline for the next round.
All members who express interest are allowed to play in the tournament.
INSTRUCTIONSOkay, now that the tournament has officially begun, I will post the first round match ups as well as who gets the bye. The bye for each round will be determined at random. There will be a deadline that the match has to be done by.
Because Nintendo's online admittedly sucks, you must PM your opponent about your match, and send a response PM to the initial PM to confirm and schedule a match time. When you send a PM, please post in this thread as to indicate your activity. This way, I will not have to hand out a forfeit to non-active parties from lack of activity. I won't know what's going on unless it is communicated to me and the rest of the members through this thread.
The PM you send your opponent should include:
Your friend code and the nickname you will be using in game (in order to register the friend as well as prevent confusion)
Your stage selection, in case you lose the first round match.
The times you will be available to play the game, so that you can organize a time to play.
After the games are over, the results can be posted by either of the players. Make sure that you post how many games you played, along with who won each game, which stage the game was played on and which characters you both used for each match. You can use different characters for each of the matches in the set of three if you so desire.
