I asked my sexy bearfriends between Dark Sector and Viking, and both said get Viking, so I will be picking it up later tonight

So this is where I will blog my eventual disappointment with this game, and force myself to get all the achievements

yuck it's like an uber-repetitive, dull version of Fable with MMO mechanics, crappy interation with NPCs, shitty exploration of barren plains, no ambient sounds and no storyline

Fable was already awful enough, now imagine something even more boring, as if it's humanly possible

It's like... super watered down Fable... ish

Your character is silent, which totally isn't Viking-like, I should be grunting and fucking bitches for Valhalla

You can't equip different weapons, you get your sword and axe. You buy Runes for 3 elements to power up your weapons.

You learn new moves by buying them at the Battle Arena.

World Map seems to be small so far, but maybe I get to explore new places.

Fuck y'all. Viking rocks. I just finished the battle of Holdenfort and OMG that was AWESOME. Sure there's some repetitive shit in the game but the set piece big battles are really well done. Fun stuff.

Anyway, you didn't like the major battles at all? Not even a little? IMO, the game so far was worth any bit of boredom just to be able to play through that one fight at Holdenfort.

I was quite excited with it before it came out, I was hoping for an epic Kindgom Under Fire style game with weapon upgrades and stuff. I think my expectations were too high for it. I'll give it a bash this weekend (3 day weekend

) before GTA.

Yeah, that ain't Viking but what is there is pretty fun imo. There's some issues like repetitive mission structure (but not anywhere near as bad as Assassins Creed), and it can be tough to know just what the hell is going on during the big battles due to the ammount of stuff on screen, plus the game seems to suffer from numerous sound problems during its cutscenes - like you'll see a big explosion but no sound...it can be a little distracting. But it can look pretty darn impressive at times and I found the combat to be fun, even though I don't use a lot of the special moves that you can buy.

Viking is this year's EDF 2017 for me.

Man, sometimes this game can look freakin' amazing. I'm on the third island right now and I'm ready to start the first big battle but I'm just sitting here staring at the fire and smoke effects in a cave. I take a pic of it with my camera but god knows it wouldn't do it justice.
