Dear Customer,

We have recently discovered the possibility of unauthorized access to personal information on PLAYSTATION®Store (PC), a content download service of PLAYSTATION®Network.

Protection of personal data is Sony Computer Entertainment's highest priority. Please be assured that we have taken immediate measures to rectify this issue and system security has been restored.

Although very unlikely, it is possible that your password to Sign In to PLAYSTATION Network may have been changed through unauthorised access, making it possible to view users’ personal information and/or use the Wallet for PLAYSTATION Store. PLAYSTATION Network accounts do not display entire credit card numbers, so any unauthorised access to your PLAYSTATION Network account is very unlikely to compromise your credit card number.

In order to confirm that you are not affected by this unauthorized account activity, please Sign In to your PLAYSTATION Network account using your preset password.

Then:

1) If you are able to Sign In normally then you are not affected and need take no further action; or

2) If you cannot Sign In, or if you have forgotten your preset password please follow the instructions to reset your password (by clicking the [Forgotten Password] link on the PLAYSTATION Network Sign In screen at https://store.playstation.com/login.gvm) and check that no suspicious account activity has occurred.

If you do notice any irregularities with your account please call your local Customer Services on 1300 365 911 or alternatively e-mail us at support@playstation.com.au (local call rates when consumer calls us).

PLEASE NOTE:

SCEE will never contact you directly to ask for any personal details or passwords.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Sincerely,

Customer Service SCEE

Has Sony still not released point cards in the US yet? I haven't seen any. Even Nintendo with their crappy online strategy had point cards out day one.

So now I have to plug in ethernet and eat the update to check this? Nah

Nothing weird on my credit card, but I should probably delete my info like dcharlie did.

I just got a call from my bank, looks like my credit card got compromised, someone had been making purchases that I didn't make yesterday and today. It's all taken care of, now, though.

what the hell is this yearofps3 site of yours, sounds like an SDF copycat to also bait fanboys, only without tjhooker's funny humor

What's so funny about TJ Hooker's blatantly obvious trolls?

come on, he's funny as fuck, never out of a witty reply too, he's funny justly because he's over the top and blatantly fanboyish... his style allowed sonydefenseforce to rise into Internet prominence

with not even 500 posts he was the center of attention at GAy and nearly brought the entire gaming forum down to its knees, that's proof enough :lol

Have they given any more details on how this happened/happens (is the exploit or whatever fixed yet)?  PSN is such a gross disappointment.  I'm still bitter about Hot Shots Golf's multiplayer component being worse than Hitler.

I haven't bought anything from PSN since Tekken 5.  Hopefully, my card info wasn't compromised.
