Star Ocean always teases you with the cool Sci-Fi stuff, but 99.9% of the game will take place on some medieval fantasy world.

oh no. did valkyrie profile 2 suck? i was going to slam through the first and second ones in a short while. then i was going to play star ocean 3 but it sounds like that game might have a shitty storyline too.

i loved so2; so much so that i played it twice in a row with both claude and rena to get both viewpoints and endings.

Both VP2 and SO3 had horrid scenarios, SO3 exponentially worse. Don't let that turn you off from playing both of them though because the gameplay aspects of both games are very enjoyable. Plus both games are packed to the brim with content (when it comes to equipment and endgame stuff)

The problem I have with SO3 was that it was a complete letdown. Being stuck on that damn planet for so long and nothing happening for a good 3/4ths of the games length was just insane.

I'm not normally a fan of prequels, but I am really anticipating seeing how the world of SO came to be... the humans making first contact with all the different races and planets in the galaxy, Earth's technical expansion... it's cool how it's kind of in the near future, too.

I wonder if they're just gonna forget about SO3's storyline.
