Recommend me a good, cheap ($150-$200) digital camera

My wife and I would like to get a new digital camera, but have no idea what to buy. We're not looking for a top of the line camera, just something between $150 and $200 that takes nice pictures.

The smaller the better, more than likely. We'll be using it for taking pictures on trips and just random daily life stuff. Something that's good with both indoor and outdoor lighting, I guess. My knowledge of cameras is "more megapixels are good, and you push a button and it takes the picture."

I'd recommend the one I have, a Fuji S700, but it's probably too large for your needs

I'm afraid I can't help you with recommendations for pocket-sized cameras

How is it? I wouldn't mind paying $225 for one if it's good.

hi-5

I've had it since last August and I still haven't tapped all the features

I love the black and white mode and the 10x zoom, and it does really decent night shots for a sub-$200 camera

1. Action shot, dog was in motion

2.  Zoom from across a four-lane highway, standing in the bed of my truck

3.  Macro shot of a cicada shell in my parents' yard, chrome color setting

4.  B&W night shot of a bench in my neighborhood

5.  B&W day shot of the dog by an old playset

bunch more using various settings here:

hell yeah.  From the reviews I've seen, it's the best bargain for the price.  It can really capture colors beautifully
