when i put Sullivan's Travels in my queue i wanted the criterion edition.  not the filthy poor Preston Sturges box set version!

I remember watching it after hearing some huge praise for Sturges, but not liking it as much as the big screwball comedies or the Marx bros. stuff from around the same period.

The laughing montage at the end creeped me out, which I don't think was the intended effect.

i think it was a message picture wrapped up in a comedy movie.

i get what they were saying, but ugh.  that ending.
