It's yet another game that 'benefits' from the PS3 Vaseline effect, whereby the 4x multi-sample anti-aliasing of the 360 game is replaced by a blur that attempts to simulate the same effect.

Still, six hours of gameplay for (in my case) 985 gamerscore isn't bad at all, so for 360 owners it's well worth a rental for a night or two of leisurely gaming and a welcome points boost

WTF?!

Eurogamer compares almost all the multiplatform games.  It's pretty helpful for gamers that own both PS3 and 360.

What's weird is that Eurogamer sometimes have different conclusions from IGN, 1up, Gamespot, etc.  I wonder if it's because they're playing the PAL versions.

Lost looks pretty good from the screenshots.  I might run through it once like some kinda tech demo.

eurogamer's conclusions are sometimes off, but their screen captures are excellent. forget the big publications -- either they're incapable of spotting small differences or pr has instructed them not to

eurogamer mostly get their info from forums like beyond3d.

they are probably the only ones to mention DMC4 2xaa 360/temporal aa ps3.

I think only some of their writers read Beyond3d.  I've noticed that someone would mention temportal AA while another guy would call it a blur effect.

What if it gave you 999 for beating the first boss and 1 for beating the obnoxiously overpowered optional bosses, getting everyone to max level etc.?

i don't care about achievements UNLESS they award you some number of points which is not a multiple of five in which case I HATE THEM because who wants a gamerscore ending in '3' or '8' or oh god i can barely bring myself to type it '4'

i contracted one of those achievements in half life 2 and then had to go looking for the complementary achievements to get my gamerscore back to a nice round multiple of 5

Is gamerscore accessible to game code?  Could I make a hidden item that's only available to players whose gamerscore is a multiple of 14?  :drool

You have to follow MS's guidelines for Gamerscore and Achievements

Are these guidelines legalistic?  Man, now I want to become a producer of Xbox games just so I can try to come up with the most perverse achievement setups that can possibly be sneaked through Microsoft.  Could I have an achievement that you only get one chance to unlock, and if you fail it locks you out from ever trying again with the same profile?

My gamerscore is forever tainted with 7point achievements from Ridge Racer. I need to get some 1pt achievements going.

I gave up on achievements after losing about 1000 pts 'cause my 360 wasn't connected to the internet.

someone on OA told me that there was a way to disable achievements in the dashboard, is that true

nothing more that I hate than to see gay achievement warnings pop up in the middle of a game

it's all such a fucking stupid waste of time to pursue these
