Buying the DS3 has got me waxing nostalgic about playing Sony games, so last night I started checking out Infamous.

I was done 5 minutes later. Is there really just the lone one-minute trailer that people are going on for this game? Did some magazine have a big article on it, or is there some interview on it that is getting people excited? I've seen this on list warz for months now and just accepted it as some big release, but GameTrailers has jack shit on it.

So am I missing something, or are people just hyped because the makers of Sly are making an open world game?

I don't see how a developer of AAA platformers equates to a AAA open world game developer. Unless Sly games opened up later in the series?

Crushed, I'm trying to dance around that sentiment with this topic. Props for remembering Afrika tho.

Sly 2 and Sly 3 both used open worlds as hubs. 

I think the Infamous hype is coming from three things.  First, the usual Sony guys who think everything they make is an AAA system seller that will turn everything around.  Second, fans of the Sly series like me who are optimistic about Sucker Punch as a developer.  Third, the concept is an appealing one.

Good concept with good developer hopefully equals good game?  I sure hope so, it's one of my most anticipated titles.

Prototype > * no? I'm definitely more interested than I was before but this seems more like the first group than anything.

I also scoped out the Haze GT video and it looks just as generic as it did the last time I looked at it. It has the same cheezy one liners that certain people loathe so much in Gears. If that game was multiplat it'd be Turok part 2.

I'm basing Prototype hype on 1. plethora of awesome vids and articles 2. people seem to really like Hulk and this is the same genre.
