so my cousin gave me both KH 1 & 2 this weekend for $10 bucks cause he's fucking broke. before i even put the disc in, is it worth playing through both parts? i've got a ridiculous backlog right now, but i'm compelled to play the game for some unknown reason.

i like the older FF Games. everything post SNES was a snorefest to me. from what i hear, KH combat is decent right?

The battle system never clicked with me. The support characters in Kingdom Hearts 1 are supremely distinguished mentally-challenged. The ai is borked.

KH 1 was fun when I was unemployed and bored. Donald and Goofy are kind of useless and the camera sucks ass but if you can get past those two issues it's a good time.

She is not a playable character, but she joins your party in the Mermaid world

And she joins your party but the only 'playable' character as such in the game is Sora, the spiky-haired kid batting ppl around with a giant key. Disney influence, lolz

i checked out the intro and did the tutorial. seems pretty decent so far. the interface system is fucking distinguished mentally-challenged though, seriously -- give me a free roaming camera! i'll probably end up playing this after all. omg ariel.

The Crisis Core team was assembled to make Crisis Core, it didn't really exist as a team before. Members had worked on various other Square projects including Before Crisis, KH1/2, FFX/X-2, Dirge, and Front Mission 4/5. The event director (Masaru Oka) and scenario writer (Kazushige Nojima) are both the same between KH2 and CC, so there is some commonality in terms of story and cutscenes. KH1's cutscenes however were mostly written and directed by Jun Akiyama (Vagrant Story, FF12) and have a different style.
