I told a couple of you behind closed doors who it was, but I won't divulge to the rest of y'all. Needless to say, this is by far the biggest break I've ever landed here. My screenplay, in all likelihood (barring the said person's assistant completely hating the screenplay on site), will cross the desk of someone that is a pretty well known Hollywood
person. It's one thing to talk to agents, film school grads, friends and trusted academic advisors - but this is the real deal.
I'm scared shitless. It's not completely polished and now I
have to take it out of the scap heap and spit shine it. I worry about being called out on my inexperience. I worry that I'll be told it sucks so much ass that it is a valuable time. It's one thing to hear this from
other people (and actually, the feedback on this particular project has been pretty damn good to my surprise), but from
this person (who I hold in relatively high esteem) - it would be crushing.
I really thought this project was long dead. Now I have to resurrect enough strength, and fill out the release paperwork, to show it off to the big boys.
