I like Lost in Blue 3 more than anyone should.

I'm really enjoying Lost in Blue 3. I like the way it doesn't hand hold and legitimately simulates the problems of trying to survive on an island. Reviewers complain that it's too easy to get hungry- Well, yeah, for the first 3 days you survive on mushroom and coconuts for two people. But do some legwork and pretty soon you can start catching fish and trapping rabbits. Protein is more filling, it frees you up to spend less time foraging mushrooms and more time exploring the island.  I just get the feeling that maybe not many reviewers played it for a long time.

Then again, this could one of those things that only I enjoy, like classic Harvest Moon games and noise rock.

Who hasn't enjoyed at least one Harvest Moon game? I've always wanted to try Lost in Blue, but I always pass over buying it for something else.

I think it's a super acquired taste. 3 just throw you an island goes "SURVIVE". I was lucky that I figured out how to start a fire so fast or I would have been screwed

Like I said, I think it's an acquired taste. But what was the last game you actually liked, anyway?

Devil May Cry 4

Anyway. It's a troubling game just because it lies on a bedrock of activities that maybe shouldn't be so repetitive. And even when you get an upgrade to a task (Say, going froma fishing spear to a fishing pole or an animal trap), the act is just a different kind of repetition. But the exploring is fun and the options open to you are great. I like the sensation of going just a little farther out each day, finding new ways to make the routine more efficent.
