It seems confirmed for a US release too, since it's on SNK's US site.

Man, how many times have I told you that already?   :maf

June 26th.  Same day as Basara X from Capcom (It's Capcom's "Samurai Shodown!") and the Sunsoft Neo-Geo collection.

As soon as the SamSho collection hits, I can forget about Soulcalibur IV.  :-*

It would be a lot more exciting if they released it for systems with online play.

Samurai Spirits Sen (the new Soul Calibur-style game) is supposed to be released in arcades this week.  :hyper

All these compilations are becoming meanlingless to me without online play. Buying KoFXI and Battle Coliseum only reminded me how alone I am as a gamer in this town. Everytime I try to get my friends to jump in and play me for a few rounds they give up and want to switch to Tekken instead. Samurai Shodown 2 can't come to XBLA soon enough.

I don't know if this was confirmed or it's just a rumor, but I heard they cancelled SS2 on XBLA.   :maf  Sucks so bad if true.

What REALLY sucks is that all of SNK's PS2 games since 2004-2005 have had online play, but only in Japan.  This includes all of the classic game compilations; in fact they're called the "Neo-Geo Online Collection" here.  They are restricted to using a monthly pay-to-play service with KDDI for 900 yen a month.  I think this applies to all games, so if you have a ton of them, that's not so bad.  I'm kind of tempted to try it and see if a decent number of people play online, assuming it works through the PS3.

Just wish they'd hurry the hell up and start releasing these games on 360/PS3.  Screw '98 Ultimate on PS2...release it for the next-gen platforms instead with full online.  Hell it could be a downloadable title.

But whatever...'98 UM is the last "new old" game.  After that it's Samurai Spirits Sen and KOF XII, two games that are definitely going to get next-gen home releases.

Nah, I think might've been from a paranoid post I wrote when here and that other forum when Microsoft rejected Dodonpachi because of their new "no arcade ports policy". I mentioned that I would be genuinely pissed if SamSho2 was next but as far I know there's been no word of its cancellation. It's still my most anticipated arcade title for this year.
