Nintendo VC hacked; People who bought ROMs ownzorrrrd

I dont think anyone else has got it to work... reading around anyway.

I hope this is legit, because you don't need a modchip and Nintendo can get FUCKED with their highway robbery

All you need is Zelda TP, for the twilight hack or whatever

It would be cool if you could use any ROM for all the supported formats the VC has.

It would be just like the old XBox.  Give me perfect Neo-Geo and CPS1/2 emulation and I'll be set.  Some REAL use for those Wii joysticks.

I miss my modded Xbox.   :(

Actually I'm fairly certain the chip came loose when it was shipped over here and I just need the right tool to open that summbitch up and see.

Is it hard to get an Xbox modded? I threw mine and my GC into a drawer when I got my 360 and Wii.

No, it's insanely easy.  All you need is a copy of an original Splinter Cell and a certain save file (you can also use Mech Assault or some James Bond game too.)  No mod chip, god loves a soft mod.

Not really, you can run some emulators I guess, but overall it's still mostly proof of concept. It is only a matter of time before we get some softmods going on, like the Xbox.

Did that soft mod hack work as well as a modchip?

Better, as you can't pull a RYTOU EDGEOU and jar a softmod loose.

Yeah, you can do anything with the softmod, including reverting the XBox back to factory.  You can also use the softmod to help build a 'custom' HD for your box that your bios can lock/unlock just like a factory HD, except for 250 gigs big.

It takes no time at all once you know how to do it.

Demi, looks good, I'll just be patient.  It's not like there are a ton of wii games I'm dying to play, mostly I want access to all the VC games.

While this is funny as shit, it's not like this is the first time these games have been dumped or something :lol

Not sure why a person who would download hacked VC games wouldn't have already gone the ROM route on the PC in the first place.

Because some people would rather play them on a TV?  Still, I don't think this'll hurt Nintendo much.  Most WII owners probably aren't the type of gamers that would download those hacked VC games.

I guess that's right...I always forget about that since I have my PC hooked up to my TV. still pc emulation is way ahead of barebones crap nintendo shovels out.  They don't even offer a single IQ enhancement...

I think a lot of people would do this if it were easy enough.  Especially in places like China--they'd sell Wiis loaded with the games of your choice and shit like that.

YOU CAN USE VIRTUALLY ANY CONTROLLER ON A PC NOWADAYS, HOLY SHIT.

Hell, the stores near me sell USB mock-NES and SNES controllers, and are always stocked with PS2 controller converters.

I'm pretty satisfied with just using my PSP as my emulation machine, can even hook it up to the TV for a bigger picture if I feel like it.  I use MAME OSX for whatever isn't supported on the PSP.

So is there any way of using the Classic Controller with the pc? Closest thing I know is the Hori SNES pad for GC with a GC -> PC converter, but I don't want a third party brand. I guess that's just my problem but I never really claimed anything else.

I've been reading up on this. There's the homebrew scene but I haven't seen anything about actually copying and moving Virtual Console games. I read something about Wii Ware being hacked recently, but thats it.
