So what exactly was the issue with Zelda: TP's first half?

I didn't like a lot of the first several hours of the game, but I want to know what the consensus is for why those first several hours weren't good. For me, what made it almost unbearable were those tears of light quests. The one you needed to do right before Lakebed temple was exceptionally annoying because of that one tear that was located on top of the bluff where you had to access it by jumping on a ledge, but the shitty wolf jumping mechanism was ass and took me a long time to do. :(

I just want to make sure we're all on the same page here.

Nintendo was extremely niggardly in terms of offering enjoyment for the first half of the game.

I liked it, but it had pacing issues.  Slow start, good middle, screaming fast end.  The last few dungeons just seemed to come back to back.

No, I mean the one with roughly three hours of tedium before you get to the actual game, and then the game sucks until like the 4th dungeon.

after getting past all the bullshit the game turned into the mediocre elements of link to the past mixed with a bad version of okami and a few copied elements from shadow of the collossus.  i wanted to like the game but i didn't.
