Went to the park outside of town, eat lunch out there, did a little trail walking (hiking I suppose), played w/ the brats & then just finished BBQing. It's an awesome day here in good ol' poor Michigan.

Now I need to get motivated to rearrange the bedroom.

i started to read David Morrel's book Creeprs on Friday night and just tore through it having literally just finished it.

Excellent book if you like atmospheric thrillers.

Morrell takes a creative kind of breaking-and-entering as the premise for his latest thriller (after Nightscape), a gripping story that demands to be read in a single sitting. Disguising himself as a journalist, Frank Balenger, ex-U.S. Army Ranger and Iraqi war veteran, joins a group of "Creepers," also known as infiltrators, urban explorers or city speleologists—men and women who outfit themselves with caving gear to break into and explore buildings that have long been closed up and abandoned. Though what they're doing is technically illegal, participants pride themselves on never stealing or destroying anything they find at these sites. They take only photographs and aim to leave no footprints. Balenger joins a group of four: the leader, Professor Robert Conklin, high school teacher Vincent Vanelli and graduate students Rick and Cora Magill. This gang infiltrates the Paragon Hotel, an abandoned, seven-story, pyramidal Asbury Park, N.J., structure built in 1901 by eccentric, hemophiliac Morgan Carlisle. Balenger and the professor have a special agenda, but the others are there simply for the thrills. Things quickly begin to unravel in life-threatening ways once the intrepid infiltrators penetrate the building—they aren't the only ones creeping around the spooky hotel. Morrell delivers first-rate, suspenseful storytelling once again.

any ghosts, serial killers, or occult stuff innit? for some reason, i have a hard time sticking to any "action novel" if it doesn't have a horror component to it.

fool i haven't renewed yet. I'm trying to wait until my finals are done, or else i'll waste a shit ton of time playing. granted i'll still pass my tests - but I'm trying to break habits dammit!

it's a thriller, by the man who created rambo.  he does horror w/o supernatural elements.  It's a horror book for the first half then it gradually kicks into an action book.

if horror/action is your sort of thing, then for the love of god please read The Tomb by F. Paul Wilson.  It's the first book in the Repairman Jack series and it's just absolutely awesome.

Much to the chagrin of his girlfriend, Gia, Repairman Jack doesn’t deal with electronic appliances—he fixes situations for people, situations that usually involve putting himself in deadly danger. His latest project is recovering a stolen necklace, which carries with it an ancient curse that may unleash a horde of Bengali demons.
