That's right baby! 2D sprite goodness, best since the death of the Neo-Geo.
Reminds me of old-school Treasure games like Gunstar Heroes and Silhouette Mirage.

This game is just what your retro-craving needs, with a sweet-ass mouse+keyboard paradigm. Awesome art, awesome gameplay, awesome price ($20 USD).  Hit that demo up, stat!

holy fucking shit this is awesome.  Saw it on the 1up show and tried out the demo--this game is the real deal people.

Think Mega Man-esque sprites + Treasure game speed + Treasure bosses + Viewtiful Joe combat.  it's THAT good. I'm going to buy the full version.

THANK YOU!  No one else even noticed this thread.

Coincidentally, I was reading from the actual game author's comments from a messageboard posting, and he was all 'why do you people all think I like Treasure?  I don't really even like them much and they aren't a big influence'.

??? ??? ???  Game is as treasure-like as any treasure tribute I've ever seen.  Bizzare.

Played the demo. It was good, but I still can't justify the price tag. If it was 10 bucks, I'd go for it.

But thanks for the heads up - it's a pretty impressive game.

$20? I'll try the demo later, but for now I'll stick with Ragnarok Battle Offline. :D

That's extremely puzzling. I guess Treasure doesn't have a patent on fast action, but still, if it weren't for the mouse controls (and sound quality), you could easily convince someone it's a prototype treasure game for the Genesis.

Can't wait till finals are over...that's when I'm gonna pick this up.

$20 seems sensible enough.  The game is supposed to be about 4 hours long, with unlockable characters that play differently from the main character (enough to warrant another play through unless the new character sucks.)

I've been meaning to check out RBO for a while...looks fun.

Yeah. If I like the demo enough I'll buy it. I love 2D action sidescrollers.

i liked the demo.  but i won't buy it because i assume that the rest of the game plays exactly like it.  it's pretty much a clickfest wrapped around some fast paced wacky jappy platforming.  made by european dude.  weird.

I loved the demo and I want to want to get this, but even though $20 isn't that much it seems overpriced (by like 100%) for what you ultimately get.

When it's a truly independent game like this or the excellent Aquaria, I have no problem with a little markup.  This isn't corporate excess like the Square Enix tax on DS games, this is an individual that probably won't sell that many copies trying to make a little scratch on a hobby he loves.  This reminds me so much of a good, old school Treasure game that I'd probably pay 40 for this. Heck, if this were on a 16 bit console, back in the day, it *would* retail for full price.

I'm with you 100%.  I've paid far more than 20 bucks for a good 4 hours of gameplay.

I definitely don't agree with this.  Just looking at the trailer after having played the demo, I can clearly see where he's taking the game mechanics a number of cool places I want to go!

Bizzump for great justice!  Now only $10!  All you who said it was too expensive, now is the time to buy!!

If you buy the game through his site, is there a way to download and install it again later if you have to reformat or whatever?

Don't know about that, but you can get the game off direct2drive.com for $10 now - where you can download again and again through your account.

Kinda liked the first game and this one seems like it's a major improvement. For ten buck why the fuck not. I think I'll snag this tonight. Also while on the indie games topic, has anyone tried The Spirit Engine 2? I played the demo of that recently and it seemed pretty promising. It's a sidescrolling RPG with turnbase style battles.
