Capcom's Devil May Cry 4 Coming To PC This Summer

Demo With System Benchmark Mode Will Be Available Before The Game's Release

London — 23rd April 2008 - Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that the highly anticipated PC version of Devil May Cry® 4 is ready for release this summer. Devil May Cry 4 is already a certifiable hit in the console world, having shipped over two million units worldwide since its European release in February. A demo of the game will be released for PC players before the retail version ships, allowing PC gamers to try the game ahead of time as well as testing their system’s prowess with the included benchmark mode. The PC version of Devil May Cry 4 will feature new modes, enhanced graphics options and some additional content. Devil May Cry 4 has been rated 16+ by PEGI.

Good things come to those who wait as PC owners will benefit from having more modes and more visual customisation options to help enhance their demon-slaying action. Turbo mode will turn up the action to insane speeds, while Legendary Dark Knight Mode will harness advanced PC processing power and fill the screen with an unbelievable number of enemies for extra difficulty. Moreover, familiar enemies from the console versions will show-up in new locations in the PC version. The high resolution screen settings allow the cut scenes of the game to run at up to 120 frames per second (up from 30 frames per second in the console version of the game). Slider options are available to manage various visual effects seen throughout the game. Devil May Cry 4 for the PC will have both DirectX® 9 and DirectX® 10 modes and will also be compliant with the Games For Windows® program.

From the producer of the original Devil May Cry and Resident Evil® 4 comes the next instalment in the hugely successful stylised action series that has so far achieved global sales of nearly seven million units. Devil May Cry 4 immerses gamers in a gothic supernatural world where a new protagonist clashes with a familiar hero. As the new leading man Nero players will unleash incredible attacks and non-stop combos using a unique new gameplay mechanic: the powerful “Devil Bringer” on his right arm.

edit: they are talking about the cutscenes.

ps3 cutscenes = 60fps with drops, 360 = solid 30.

Glad I didn't buy it on the consoles now. Will play with my X360 controller  :).

spoiler (click to show/hide)
My rig probably won't be able to handle it though  >:(, I'll be more than happy with 60 fps let alone 120.

Anyone know the minimum/recommended specs for this?

Awesome, I will be playing DMC4 at 120fps in greater than 1080P.

The new quad-core should come in handy when lots of enemies are on screen.

I enjoyed DMC1 way back when on the PS2 enough that I'll give this a shot for sure.
 :)

If RE5 gets a similar treatment I'll be really, really happen. Not really because I'm dying to play it, but because the resultant crying will feed my enormous appetite for console gamer flavored schadenfreude.

RE4 on the PC was a pretty nice port after the 1st patch.  It was definitely worth the $19.99.

It would have been even better though if they had used the GC assets instead of the PS2's.

This looks so tits.  Already bought and played the 360 version to death, but I'm definitely, definitely, definitely buying this day 1 full price (only $39.99 from amazon.)

Hopefully it'll recognize my ps2 controller/pelican usb adapter set up.

Looks even better with all the hi-res packs and mods running at 720p...though I posted some pics on gaf and a bunch of people thought it looked too clean.

Woah, these patches are almost as big as a complete game.

I'll give them a try.  What does the 360 joypad patch do?  Does it cause the proper button icons to come up during QTES?

Thanks for the links.

Stupid fucks. God how I hate how they have to bring down every PC gaming thread in existence.

I saw where they were coming from...it did lose the blurry murkiness that I remember from playing on a CRT.  but it looks extremely nice in its own right and looks better to me.

Actually, the posters who posted "omg i want RE4 for the 360 with hi-res textures and 60fps" after I posted those pics were more annoying :lol
It was like:
"HERE, HERE IT IS"
"360 lol"
"NO HERE"
"360 lol"

well, aside from 60fps...which might not look right in RE4.

edit:  I haven't read any of it besides the OP, but I'm sure the DMC4 thread is being put through the usual barrage of "lol, u cant play dmc wit mouse and keybored," "$5000 PC," and bitter tears over the extra content coupled with demands for DLC.

I really hate it when they start with the $5000 PC bullshit.  I don't know why spreading those kinda fud isn't a bannable offense.

Btw, can you please post that thread?  I want to see what these mods can do.  It's going to take awhile to reinstall RE4 and all those patches.

i can understand the demands for dlc but in this case...i really don't think 360/ps3 can handle it.

ah, the DMC4 is actually fairly positive.  Only a couple mouse/kb + pc sales comments.  PC related thread = at least one comment about Borys, of course ;)

I don't have a link the RE4 thread Smooth Groove, as I'm banned from gaf right now.  The title was something like "this thread will make you want to play RE4 again."  I think it may have been started by Tieno...
