The Anti-Teen device. Your thoughts?
« on: April 23, 2008, 06:51:27 PM »
http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/04/23/teen.be.gone.ap/index.html

I know that England has been heavily using these things. Didnt realize that the States had gotten them already.

This quote made me think:

Quote
Santell said it does not violate any noise ordinances but added that the company will soon be selling the same product with a higher "power," or decibel output, that will be sold only to government agencies.

Sonic guns anyone?

Teens can be annoying.  Yes.  Been to a movie theatre lately?  But this is going too far.

I agree. Especially since considering that I, at age 24, could possibly still hear this annoying sound.

Only one thing can stop this device- ear plugs.

Before this the used to play classical music and lounge jazz to drive away teens.

This is bullshit. If these cunts can use this shit, I can blare my subs in my car. In fact, I shit you not, if a place around where I live gets these, I WILL park my car beside the device and play whatever the fuck music however the fuck loud I want for as long as the fuck I want. I WILL hire a lawyer to deal with whatever happens, which will possibly be a noise ordinance violation. What the fuck ever. From that article a school in Columbia, South Carolina has this bullshit. I should go down there.

 :lol :lol :lol

Be careful with that.

Where I live, there is a noise ordinance stating that if the police could hear your music 100 feet away, its too loud and you get ticketed. $400+ ticket right there. And it goes up the more they ticket you for it. (And once you've been ticketed for it by one of them, the rest seem to zoom in on you at the first sign of sub blarage) Luckily I haven't been caught yet. :)

If they invent a personal one that works on annoying children of all ages AND their useless parents, I'll be first in line.

Yeah, I've already been ticketed once for it and it was $375. That was ridiculous. I think I got it cut in half though, so whatever.

this is so fucking awesome. teens should be locked in their fucking houses and never allowed out until they can do productive work for society. why they're even allowed in public is fucking beyond me.

Indeed.  I have long maintained that children of all flavors should be kept in boxes until they are old enough and well trained enough to perform simple tasks without giving their superiors any lip.

I don't like kids, especially small children. Most teens are quite disgusting, but even I wouldn't want them to possibly have hearing loss. I'd rather send them to Iraq

You're cool though, PR.  When you get older you will have the same feelings about teens.  Bet on it.  They are a scourge on society.

That reminds me of the time I went to see Casino Royale. We took our seats as the trailers started playing and then about 20 (I kid you not) greek tourist teenagers (aged 15-18, I believe) came in and sat in the aisle right in front of us. Needless to say, the little bastards talked loudly all the way through the movie.

And can you believe it, one of them (a girl) fainted about halfway through and they stopped the movie (when the hangar doors open to reveal the plane) to see what was going on.
Turns out she was ok - I couldn't care less.

They resumed the movie about 15 mins later. Needless to say I was pissed off and it ruined my enjoyment of the film. Teenagers in large groups are the scourge of a healthy society.
