I was really looking forward how the realistic faces of the original would be upgraded for the remake but obviously with the brand new characters that's out the window.

It doesn't look amazing, but if I had a PS3 I'd definitely be picking it up.

silent hill isn't only about the graphics so maybe there will be an awesome storyline and some insanely difficult puzzles. one of the things i liked about SH2 and 3 was setting the puzzles on the most difficult level and just enjoying the environments.

I'm not concerned about the graphics either. If this was a Wii/PS2 game, I'd be totally on board with it. However, since it's apparently not a Wii or PS2 game, then I think the graphics probably say a lot about how much effort is going into this game. The storyline will probably be something shat out from the bowels of Uwe Boll's nightmares, and the puzzles will probably be "Find the Clover Key to open the Clover Door!"

this is a valid deduction but not necessarilly true. the only way to find out is to wait until people purchase the game and write up a review or if you buy the game yourself. i'll be trucking with the latter since i like silent hill and it hasn't let me down. sure 4 didn't fit and wasn't in silent hill but it didn't suck. if this one sucks i won't but another one fresh off the shelves.

besides, i can't trust other peoples' reviews since they are generally based off of arbitrary details of the game that never apply to whether or not i would enjoy playing it.
