I just noticed that the same guy reviewed Assassin's Creed.

I won't argue about his scores for gameplay but how is GTA4 a 10 in graphics when AV only got an 8.5? They both suffer from the same framerate issues and the pop-in is worse in GTA4.

I just got done playing Saint's Row for an hour, and half of that hour was spent in sub-10FPS clip because I was around 4 cop cars and a Swat Truck with maybe four other NPCs in the rain. After that, cars fell into the ground a couple times, random bouts of lag, looking at my horrific character because the art eats asshole, cringing at how bad the sound effects are, throwing my controller because of how ridiculously sad and shit the physics are etc. etc.

I'm ready for the king to return to his throne after this pussy bitch impostor tried taking his place.

ugh, I played the Heavenly Sword - Kai demo from the japanese psn store last night. It was one of the saddest things ever. Does the whole game run like shit like that? is the aiming and all that with Kai as bad as in the demo or did they just choose the worst part to show off?

It's GTA. Remember big franchise games tend to get overrated. See God of War series, Zelda, and the like.

IGN reviews are always excessively verbose so it's not very surprising that a review for a big game like GTA4 would be an epically bloated pile of

The whole game didn't run that badly. It was mostly OK until the last two levels.

That last QTE sequence is horrendous though. 3-5 FPS with the whole screen tearing like crazy.

HS' main problem wasn't so much the framerate but the combat system that they implemented. The combat system simply required more precise timing than the framerate was capable of.

HS is about a 6/10. The generally nice production values are worth checking out but the gameplay isn't for everyone. Sixaxis controls can be turned off in the final game if that was a major concern.

I actually enjoy IGN's reviews, they generally supply a lot of pertinent game feature info, and I don't have internet ADD so I can read the whole thing without whining and twitching and forgetting what I was reading midway through

I don't think Hillary Goldstein is a paid shill, I just think that when the dude likes something he really likes it. He's been very critical of various 360 fuckups/games before in the "Three Red Lights" 360 podcast IGN puts out.
