First one is fun for me in part due to nostalgia; it's odd seeing everyone so young, and I get teary eyed when I think about what the characters will eventually go through

Second is very cheesy, but nostalgia again kinda makes it bearable. There are some horrible scenes though

Third is classic

Forth is flawed and rushed, but once things start rolling it gets pretty good

Fifth is an abomination, and easily the worst film

I was actually thinking about downloading the Phoenix movie off of XBL out of boredom.  I generally hate Harry Potter (well, I've only seen the first two films and haven't read any of the books but what I saw was more than enough) but I didn't feel like driving to rent a movie and didn't want to see something I already own, so I thought what the hell.  So before I downloaded I checked out Rotten Tomatoes and I guess I haven't been paying attention 'cause for some reason I thought this was the 3rd movie in the series.  I really had no idea they've already put out 2 others since the last one.  I decided against it thinking that I had to see them all in order to understand what the hell is going on.

But if they did they'd satisfy all the HP nerds and then all the people who haven't read the books  would be curious and go out and buy them and read them.  It's win-win.

This is true. I'm also betting that when the last of the movies is out there will be a Collector's ultimate Edition for the books or something, followed by the collectors complete movie set when the last dvd comes out.
