No, you are lame.

Perhaps, but evidently not quite lame enough to suffer through, much less enjoy, this poopsack of a game.

Hate on Zelda:TP (which I'd argue is the best 3D Zelda) and MGS, is there any game you do like aside from Haze?

I felt the sky dungeon was the best dungeon in TP but I'm partial to Arbiters Grounds. It really was my favorite Zelda dungeon. It actually felt like a dungeon! And the weapon you got in that dungeon was fucking genius. The boss fight was so fucking inventive too, although it was a bit easy...

TP does a lot right. The dungeons in the game are some of the best the series has to offer. Each dungeon gets better than the last. The wii controls were excellent and intuitive for the most part, aside from the move Shield Bash which had you thrust the nunchaku forward. It worked for me maybe 25% of the time, total. I felt the story in the first half of the game was Zelda at its best. I really enjoyed the wolf sections, and the game was consistently varied throughout; the Panzer Dragoon-esque part, the wolf puzzles, the showdown duel at the bridge, finding the children. The variety was so fucking excellent and I was positive I was playing the best Zelda ever, because that's what I feel the first half is, especially as the slowly uncover the game's world.

On top of this, the first half of TP was the first time I loved a Zelda story. Link's facial expressions made him alive more than he ever was in TP, and Midna...Midna is the fucking shit. Zant easily has the potential to be the best Zelda villain. The first half of Tp's story was far more interesting than typical regurgitated "we have to go to these three dungeons to get this item for such and such blah blah" and I had an actual incentive to help Midna out because I liked her so much. The characters like the kids were cool too.

Then the second half started and it became typical Zelda "we have to go to these dungeons to get this item." The dungeons get better and better but everything else started to get disappointing.

Zant becomes a laughing stock so Nintendo could shoehorn Ganon in the game, when Zant was far superior. I hated Zant, and he was a much better villian than Ganon EVER was and he becomes a goddamn clown.

The characterization the game hinted at earlier, like Link's relationship with that girl, and the characterization of Collin's father and other characters that the game hinted at being interesting characters early in the game was ignored and dampened. Link becomes once again, a shallow character and lacking the energy and tenacity he had early on. Midna remains the best character in the game throughout. In fact, she's the best Zelda character period.

The wolf form becomes an afterthought, aside from maybe 3 times in a few random moments in the second half's dungeons.  The weapons and items you get in the dungeons in the later half, like the spinner, are used only in that dungeon for 5 minutes and then dropped later on. It didn't really feel like I had to use them later in the game more so than usual in a Zelda which sucked.

Since the overworld was entirely open now, it gave the game a lack of fulfillment. I loved unlocking each part of the world in TP as it gave me more incentive to explore. Once that was done, I started to realize just how shallow the game's world was. There wasn't much to do in TP, and most of the sidequests were derivative fetch quests. The game didn't feel rewarding or exploration like games such as Link's Awakening or Ocarina. The best thing about TP though, was fishing. Holy shit most relaxing mini game of all time, especially on the wii. THe fishing mini game on TP wii was the fucking shit, and really gave me a boner for a potential fishing game on the wii.

The difficulty was also pretty hilarious. I remember the game being far more difficult earlier on because some enemies would take off 3 hearts if they hit you and it felt more difficult. The later game was a piece of cake, although the puzzles rocked.

TP was a really good game, but the second half lessened its quality, I think. That said, the first half is, in my opinion, potentially the best Zelda has to offer period.

I'd give it an 8.5

I had to push myself to play this turd, and I'm a huge Zelda fan.

The game gets so tedious eventually, never finished it. The only Zelda I haven't finished.

Next Zelda doesn't need to be an OOT clone. Do something exciting with this franshise, Nintendo.

Pretty much. I quit at the Sky Dungeon because it was just...ugh.

Wow, best dungeon in the entire game.

You not only suck for buying iPhone and a PS3 at launch but for quitting TP at City in the Sky, so close to the end of the game.

I didn't buy it at launch. Borys, you're turning into a fucking idiot.

I didn't say I hated the second half. In fact, as I said, the dungeons in that part of the game are fucking amazing. But it did little to sake the ground of the typical Zelda structure and it felt like such a fucking rehash. I just think Zelda is in need of a revamp, is all

That's one of the best dungeons in the game and Zelda, period. What the hell? People stop playing these games at the most inappropriate times., I swear Reminds me of when someone said they quit playing Ocarina AFTER Jabu Jabu's Belly.  ??? :lol

Finish the goddamn Zelda game - you are close to the end.

I would really love to discuss why I stopped then so you could understand me, but you've made it painfully clear:

Hey Raban, did you get the MacBook Air finally? I heard it's a hot item!

That you have turned into a rabid idiot. Be proud, son. In my opinion, The Temple of Time was the best dungeon in that game. And I got quite a ways through the Sky Dungeon before ultimately resigning.
Not only do you refuse to read more than two or three words of any of my posts, but you've devolved yourself into the troll-bot most every poster here seems to be. I'd love to try and clear my name, but what would it be worth since you'd either ignore it and flame me or do the ever-so-popular tl;dr.

A lot of the enjoyment with TP is how you approach the game's aesthetic. It definitely derives much of its design schematics from OoT but still provides a provocative experience. With Gerudo Desert I did feel it was a little monotonous mainly at the expense of not getting the warthog until you approach the camp. I'm pretty used to Nintendo games including the massive scope of the environments you mentioned- Mario Sunshine let players see far-off levels with full animation and detail.

I definitely agree that TP includes the best set of dungeons of any Zelda game. And the game world is better realized than OoT although I still prefer fishing in OoT. The minor drawbacks include little nitpicky things like having to sit through a small cut-scene every time Link picks up a rupee with each new session. Also, it's time they abandon the light/dark world design.

How long are you gonna hang around that I bought an iPhone and PS3?

I've been insulting you because think for a single solitary second how absurd that is. You're prejudging everything a person says because they bought something.

My own ownage? I ignored that thread after the first few replies! When it drifted on to the second page and people refused to post anything worth caring about, I locked it.

You're speaking like a child, you're acting like a child, how can I not insult you?

TP, in my eyes, is OoT pushed to another level. It has better graphics, better dungeons, better bosses etc. Everything in TP kinda was in OoT already but here it is just SO MUCH better.

I don't know if I would like Nintendo to make the next Zelda (on a next-gen Nintendo console) "just" TP pushed to another level.

No, I think that would be far too predictable, far too boring.

TP is the perfect fare-well to OoT style of Zelda games.

I am glad I didn't finish it yet, I am glad still some surprises await me.

I don't think TP's bosses are better than OoT's. TP doesn't even have dark Link. or the electricity thing in Jabu Jabu's belly. The final fight against Ganon is far more memorable, and in OoT you use old abilities just as much as new ones. And then there's the fire temple which was far better than TP's if only for the muslim chants. And in OoT the time travel thing isn't a gimmick in the second half like it is in TP's. The story also feels more epic in scale.

TP is good no doubt but it's not better than OoT in any regard except maybe dungeons.

and THE GRAVEYARD in OoT fuck that game was so memorable

Comparing TP to OoT is like comparing Raiders of the Lost Ark to Temple of Doom. One has the meat, one is the TIMELESS CLASSIC and the other is just a really good piece of entertainment.

I mean the world exploration in TP sucks balls!

I just never got the feel for fishing in TP. Wildly pulling my Wiimote up in the air didn't have the desired effect and was nowhere near as accurate or responsive as it was in OoT. Although the fishing boat area was fucking beautiful in every way. One of the most relaxing moments in the game.

And thinking about it I kind of agree with your point on OoT having the better overworld. I would have expected TP to have far more detail throughout- trees, rivers, grass, etc.

See back in the day casual soccer dads played real games and not this Wii Fit shit.

yeah my dad and i played sonic 1 and 2 as a kid all the time after he stopped playing :( aside from the occasional mortal kombat or street fighter. which i always owned him at.
