Yes, because they aren't the fuckheads behind the two Patriot Acts and all the other "security" bullshit that's raped our personal freedoms. The War on Terror and the War on Drugs are fuckin' excuses to filch taxpayer money and abuse the Constitution. Fuck ANY party that so blatantly endorses either "War". Even if the Democrats did not get the majority, the GOP was going to back off the Bush support. They want a Republican President in office when he leaves, and supporting Bush is not going to do that.

Executing what? The GOP has noticeably backed away from Bush. The only people that really wanted his seal of approval were Republicans in the HEARTLAND, where people fear the homo AIDS and black people. Any sane Republican practically shrugged him off.

The truth is, the party manipulated and rallied behind an emotional event and strong political motivations (war! terrorism! 9/11!) to exploit voters and keep power.

I really think given a similar scenario, Democrats would probably do the same.

Yeah, Bush's administration has been a monumental failure and the Republicans are reaping the rewards of exploiting emotions and events instead of working on long-term policy.

The biggest failure, in my opinion, is the return of Reagan/Bush Sr. era foriegn policy which was incredibly short sighted and created to combat Communism. In the end, their style of play created all the problems that we're dealing with today and instead of reforming how we do business with the world, Dubya has put us in a quagmire that I have no doubt we'll be dealing with two Presidents from now.

Then I got a letter from the government, the other day. It said I couldn't get married because of homosexual tampering. Wow.

To make matters worse, I talked to three different women today who were forced to have two abortions at the same time while being temporally violated by Dixie Chicks music, which has officially replaced the national anthem.

New lifestyle change is in order. Today, I had oatmeal and flavored water instead of my usual pumpkin cheesecake latte and sausage mcmuffin(s). Instead of eating chocolate candy and other assorted crap, I'll be eating dried mangos and peanuts and veggie chips.

The primary season is coming to fast for the GOP to re-discover themselves in the next election.

The Republican party is dead for at one more election cycle.

Considering the fact that Republicans haven't deserved a shot for ~three years IMO, I'm willing to see this as a definite positive. Rumsfeld leaving can hopefully signal an actual shift in Iraq policy that doesn't reduce down to "same shit, different words." My hope is that the next few years won't be dominated by non-stop hearings and obstructionism/refusal to work with the opposition.

Do I approve? I just heard Harry Reid on one of the cable news networks talking about what he/they want to do, among which was:

- Independent energy sources
- Health care reform
- Competitive pharmaceutical pricing
- Promote stem cell research

I wanted to tear my clothes off right there, slather myself with butter and hump the TV. Granted, I doubt they end up making significant strides in any of those arenas because it will likely be a gridlocked environment, but still, what an orgasmic change of events from the ass goblins who previously made up Congress who's big goals were to prevent nipple slips on TV and make sure every Ay-rab has a passport.
