Lol - this game is awful.

Sorry - not the game itself, the surrounding story and characters are so MINDSHAFTINGLY awful that you'd have to be a complete hinomaru saluting pocky loving douche to find anything worthwhile in it.

Someone said to me that they'd be ashamed to be caught playing this game and i can absolutely see what they mean... i'd rather be caught with my daughter in my Austrian cellar...

story is grade A turd in digital form with a sub-doujin fighting game attached.

Score out of 10: Crap.

The fighting engine is not so bad...it's basically Guilty Gear but not as deep.

The constant. fucking. talking. throughout. the. whole. fucking. battle. is. driving. me. bat. shit. insane!!!!!!!!!! It's also the most saccharine shit I've ever seen. Some people in the gaf thread said "the story looks great!" I almost committed suicide right then and there.

The demo was enough for me. After I tried story mode and vs. CPU mode, I deleted it.

Haha! My wife came home from work while I was trying it out, she was like "What the fuck are you playing?"

Played the demo a little while ago. The visual style kinda reminds me of Radiata Stories which is, um, unique for a fighting game. I didn't expect the graphics to be in 3d but the controls seemed pretty quick and responsive like a 2d fighter. The voices were quite grating but thankfully there's an option to turn them down. I don't think game itself is complete shit, it's just not as complex as Guilty Gear and the artstyle comes off as a bit too sweet. Maybe worth the one time download for those that can stomach it. As a full price purchase, no way.

It certainly does have an odd choice of art style, but I think with the way it plays, it will make for a good online fighter.

I find it odd "animu" comes into play here. The game is more like a MMORPG gone fighter, with bizarre or just bad designs either way. This shouldn't come as a shock since these guys make Guilty Gear.

This game died at the arcades where I am in like two weeks. I liked a few of the characters and wouldn't have minded playing more, so I plan on getting the home version.

Yeah I think the game might work better if the story mode had some RPG elements added to it where you can gain experience to add moves, strength, speed, etc. But as of right now it's a pretty generic fighter with a strange style choice. If it was online and less than $20 I might bite (I'm a sucker for fighters anyways).

I agree completely.

The combat really felt smooth and responsive though. Probably one of the best attempts at mimic'ing 2D fighters with 3D graphics.

The look of it is really more like an MMORPG. It plays very well, looks nice, and despite the designs, does have some fun characters.

Jesus guys, it's a fucking fighting game. A decent one with a shitty demo. It's made by the same guys behind Guilty Gear, Hokuto No Ken, and Basara X. Mind you Basara X is like 10 times better and is coming out only a month after BF, but only BF is going to have online play.

Does Basara X play significantly different from this, GG, and Hokuto No Ken? 'cause those 3 feel very similar (with BF and HNK feeling like GG-lite.) I'd consider Basara X. Battle Fantasia's voices are annoying enough to turn me off completely.

Just a reminder that you can turn the voices down since this seems to be the biggest complaint. Unfortunately you can't do the same for the art style.
