Remember in 2004, the day after the election, there were all kinds of people screaming "we was robbed", "they knew Ohio was the final battleground and they fucked us there".

This year, the day after we hear nothing.  Nothing is wrong today, everything worked good enough.  No one got screwed.

It's funny how different things are when the Democrats win.  It seems like all the whining doesn't happen for some reason when they win, just when they lose.  ::)

the Montana/Virginia results aren't official yet. I sorely mistrust Diebold, and I believe the victory margins were so large that even Diebold couldn't fudge them in many cases. most sane folks are simply SICK of having their tax dollars wasted and civil rights eroded because a bunch of elites shit their pants every time they think of a dude with a towel on his head.

also, you really haven't been reading the Republican blogs, have you? here's a great piece of histrionics from Instapundit: "We who have survived Civil War, the Nazis and the Communists can probably manage to find a way to preserve the Republic in the face of Speaker Pelosi."

I don't think there's anything Republicans can really say. They self destructed as a party in the past few months that most thought unimaginable.  Plus, most Republicans are disenchanted with the administration and have felt they've gotten little in return but bad leadership for sticking to Bush.

Alot of polls were wide margins, if there were shenanigans they would have been easier to spot.

Eh, I think a lot of people are just biting their tongues until things are official.  A lot of feet have been placed in mouths during the last two elections.  I think the general stance is be quiet until the recounts happen.  Then put the feet in your mouth.

My point is that the republicans accept their losses like mature adults.  They don't whine and cry when they lose, because it just had to be someone elses fault.  That is all.

It was complete and udder nonsense that people claimed Ohio was fixed last year just because it ended up being a close state in the end.  Just like they claimed Florida was fixed in 2000 when Bush won the recount.

The fact is people just need to own up to the final results.  I'm tired of hearing how minorities are "denied" to vote and all that crap.  I don't buy it.  Not one bit.

Sure enough, the dems win everything and there are magically no complaints of fraud.  Hilarious.

Again, Tigerriot has not been reading the conservative blogosphere this morning. The tears are flowing like the ol' Mississippi. :-*

And who said that fraud didn't occur? We've already seen voter intimidation tactics from the Repubcans in VA and ballot shenanigans in Florida, and Democrats ARE pushing their complaints. So the celebrations are drowning them out a bit on the libby blogs amid the triumphalism? Doesn't mean the complaints aren't still there, dode.

You did hear about the VA phone scandal, right?  Where people were being called and told that they'd be arrested if they voted?  Or what about the widespread voting machine problems, nationwide?

I don't care what the conservative blogs are saying.  I never have.

I'm just making a simple commentary on some simple observations.  I'm sure there are occasionally some nonsense with voting somewhere, but it's funny how the dems always want us to believe it's republicans, and it's particularly happening when they lose elections.  People come out of the woodwork with outlandish claims when the dems lose every time.

I'm sure there were a few morons claiming something yesterday, but I just don't buy most of it.  And I particularly don't buy the idea that it's only republicans when it occurs.  As if there isn't a democrat in this country who would do such a thing.  :lol

It's bullshit of the highest order, and I fully understand the reason why some people would never own up to this observation of mine.  It's one of those things thats just not fun to talk about, but it's oh so obvious to see.

Yeah, I heard a couple stupid stories about how 5 people got phone calls saying blah blah blah.

Do you ever notice something about all these "scandals" you talk about?  They're never fucking proven true!  NEVER!  You hear all these reports, you hear all these people talking this shit up, and then nothing.  Are you gonna tell me thats because the republicans don't let them do anything about it?

The fact is there are always these wild stories about something that John Blow says happened to him at some poll station, and some reporter decides to report it.  We never see a real outcome to 99% of those stories because they're not true, or if they are they were so isolated they didn't matter.  There are always gonna be random morons who do something dumb, in both parties!

I agree. The margins in Virginia are close enough so that the election could be "stolen", but it hasn't happened. The entire position makes little sense. This election was far more important than 2004's election, because the house and senate were clearly up for grabs. With the house and senate, the Democrats now have the power to investigate whatever they want and subpenea anyone they want. That's a lot of power, and it's quite dangerous. Why wouldn't the Republicans steal a state like Virginia to secure the house? It doesn't make any sense.

As Mobb Deep once said, there ain't no such thing as half-way crooks. It's just another trick from the far left. If the Republicans stole 2004 and truly had a part in 911, there'd be NO way in hell they'd let the Democrats get any access to investigations, period.

There were problems (f/e on the Rep side IIRC there were ballots in NJ that were marked for the D candidate by default), but AFAIK (from reading last night at least), none of the campaigns have suggested there were any major improprieties.  Considering that there were, yet again, the threats of "armies of lawyers," and the continual drum that Karl Rove was up to something--SOMETHING EEEEVIL--with the voting machines, I think perhaps we can put these histrionics to bed for now?  I thought they were tired enough after the Florida debacle; they're definitely tired now.  That's not to say elections in this country are perfect, of course, or that there aren't major, glaring security concerns with voting machines...

Any Republicans posting today that they are moving to Canada?

I seem to remember a slew of those in 2004.

Forgive liberals of their hyper-dramatic, shrill nature. They were born that way.

I know for a fact that right now in 2006 people in my local area that register as Republicans are getting called and harrassed by the local voter registration people. I'm in a very heavily liberal area, and I'm a registered republican along with my dad. He's fairly active behind the scenes with the local Republican committee, and he hears all the time about how people are getting called and asked 20 questions about who registered them as a Republican and whatnot.

I did just watch Hacking Democracy last night, and it was pretty fucked up. Though they were trying to get the point across that REPUBLICANS ARE TEH EVILZ, they did imply a few instances where it was Democrats may have tampered with stuff.

Quote from: AP
Lee E. Goodman, chief counsel for the Republican Party of Virginia, said the GOP is concerned about a number of glitches involving new touch-screen computer voting machines.

"There were many machine breakdowns reported yesterday and that means there was probably more paper utilized in the election yesterday than we're used to traditionally," Goodman said.

I bet Willco remembers Ellen Sauerbrey, too.
